I know a lot of you are from the Seattle area and some of you have had or attended weddings in Seattle. Does anyone know of any awesome places to hold a wedding or a reception? We are planning to have about 150 people so no too big of a place but not too small. Also, any cool suggestions for a wedding? Thinking about customized D6's as apart of the wedding gifts. Maybe "wriststrong" bracelets for our nerdy wedding party.
It'll be a bit of a pain to organize all of the guests via ferries and everything, but it's a beautiful place. The website doesn't do it justice, and actually makes it look lame. My sister got married there last September.
As a bonus, it's also the site where Laura Palmer's body was found in Twin Peaks.
Budget? Catering needs? Dry or wet reception? Handicap accessible? Morning, afternoon or evening? Indoor, outdoor or both? What's the timeline? Ceremony and reception or just reception?
Gasworks park was nice. For an outdoor ceremony, at least. Not sure what the liquor laws in Washington would be, so might be difficult to hold a reception there.
We want to do it in August 2012. Probably an indoor wedding because it's Seattle though that can change. Need catering, wet but not open bar, need a place for the Ceremony and reception but it doesn't have to be in the same place. Thanks guys! So far the suggestions are a good place to start!

Hi, I am the Chef with Master's Touch Kitchen, a full service Catering Company, and We would be happy to work with you on setting up and choosing a venue, flowers, bar, food, anything you need to make your wedding "memorable" you can contact me by clicking on my name on the left.
It sounds funny, but the Woodland Park Zoo has a few good venues, including the rose garden that's right there.
We got married at the zoo on March 17th of this year, in the taiga shelter for the ceremony(that's the one with the bears!) and in the zoomazium for the reception, which is the children's playground/activity area. It was easily the best, most fun day of my life.
also, about three weeks after Cathy turned to me one day and said "FUCK WE FORGOT TO INVITE DOC"

so, erm, sorry about that, buddy
Hah, don't worry about it.
I suggested to my friend that the caterers have a "monkey plate" with sliced bananas, orange wedges, and all the other stuff they feed the monkeys. She used the idea.
Being able to go see your friends get married, then yell "let's go see HIPPOS!" is great.

Every time I walk by there there is another wedding.
