Some people got OoT 3DS early and are posting some things about it.
You know what automatically makes this version superior to the original?
Text that scrolls twice as fast. Seriously, it's Majora's Mask levels of text speed awesomeness.
Spoiler about some new interior details:
Upon returning to the ranch once Ingo has taken over you can head into what was Talon's room and it is now adorned with various Ingo related stuff such as his neck frill/ruff on a stand, some kind of Ingo emblem on the wall and even a picture of Ganondorf!
Alright, I'm back from work. Friend code is in my sig for easy reference. I'll put up a SSF4 room for a while if you still want to play, Masume (or anyone else).
GGs! Sorry, I had to head to din din, wife calling. Good matches though, my thumb was cramped by the time I got to Abel though. lol

Hey dudes, been playing with my 3DS a bit over the past few days that I've had it, though I've noticed something strange when playing in 3D mode that I see sometimes. It's usually when a light color is near a dark one, I'll see an edge of the white object kind of ghosting over the dark area.
It basically looks like this:
except with my eyes. I can see the 3D effect fine, but that white ghosting can be really distracting. Is it a problem with the system, or could it be caused by something else (too large of a person/eyes too far apart which skews the angles)?
It's part of the system, the way it displays 3D. I think everyone deals with that. Exactly as you said, most noticeable with light right next to dark. Probably having to do with the extra luminescence of those pixels bleeding over into the other eye's view.
That's just something that happens with the system. I almost never see it in games, and I'm sure it's something developers are well aware of and are able to avoid/correct.
The only time I remember seeing it in a game was Pilot Wings when you go into a cave.

I'm a sucker for little things like that.

I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.
Even better, according to the reviews I've seen about it, Navi is way less annoying in this version.
Also, they changed the iron boots to an item so you don't have to go into the menu to equip / unequip them. That alone will make the water temple infinitely more bearable.
Shantae's neither a port nor a remake, it's a game all its own. Gorgeous sprite art.
So people were talking about the stylus, I got a question too - does anyone else use it in its short mode rather than extend it? I do it all the time, sort of in the interest of saving time but I also like how it feels. I was also that weird kid in school who used 2 inch long pencils sharpened at both ends.
I have to confess, I was totally unaware that the stylus extended until I read this post just now. Then I had to go and check to make sure. Then I felt embarrassed.
Ahhh, right. I'm actually about to do a little editing to the first post so I shall correct it then.
Unfortunately my desktop was struck by lightening earlier and now the colors are all fucked up (inversed perhaps?). Going back up to that Robin Williams video it looks like Link is wearing the Fire Tunic at all times, the Hylian Shield and Master sword are green instead of blue, and the forums themselves are a sea of green. So right now it looks like I'm editing discolored shit to throw up in the first post and I know that it is actually all just fine, but damn if it doesn't look weird.

By the way, I think everyone should be aware that I almost destroyed the universe today.
I took a picture with my 3DS. Then I took a picture of that picture being displayed on my screen with my cousin's 3DS. Then I took a picture of that picture with my 3DS, and back again until the space-time continuum started to thrash itself apart.
We should all be dead!
Edit: I'm sorry Rehab, that lightning storm was a side effect of my space-time accident.
I recently noticed the green 3D light doesn't go off when I turn off the 3D slider. It..used to go off...didn't it?
Nope! You're imagining things, man!
The 3D light lets you know if the content being displayed supports 3D. It goes off when you're in the web browser, playing a regular DS game, and so on.
I guess the Japanese eShop is getting Donkey Kong on the GB VC this week? For 300 yen. That's one of the best games in the whole entire GB library.

So dudes, I'm sitting on a $30 gift card from K-mart... I was considering getting the Nyko Power Pak with it. Did the newest system update fix that multiple Streetpass bug from switching batteries that I heard about?
Also e-Shop... neat and much MUCH better than the previous Nintendo online shops. But what's the deal with the zipcode thing? Do taxes get calculated even when you've used a money card that you bought at the store(which you would already have paid some tax on)? Is there anything stopping one from entering a zipcode hailing from a state without taxes? I mean, I don't remember doing that for any other download service, so I'm a little confused.

Run the 3D calibration in the system settings. I had it happen a couple of times, but running the calibration removed it.
Did you know your 3DS starts flashing red lights like crazy if you let it get to zero power?
I'm dying! I'm dying! YOU KILLED ME!
It really works though - it was quite easy to ignore the red light on the DS, but the 3DS sends you into full-on panic. The downside is that it's so shit at retaining charge in sleep mode - if you leave it lying around at full charge, it'll be dead in 3 days, and I can't imagine it lasting more than an hour or so when it's flashing red. Fine if you're at home, not great if you're on a long trip and not near a save point.

I couldn't tell the difference between the green light and the red light on the DS, because I'm colourblind, so whenever I played it I was in fear that it was actually just about to die. Changing the lights to blue and red was great, and the crazy flashing is even better.

When did this whole then/than confusion start, anyway? It's a relatively new phenomenon. It never used to happen in the old days. It's been happening more and more in the last two years. It's frustratingly common now.
Anyway, that's a little OT. I think I'll go check if the shop has updated this week yet. It is supposed to be Thursdays, right? In Aus, I mean.

Has anyone else been having no luck accessing the eStore? Every single time I try to get into the eStore, I get an error code (001-0502) that says the server isn't available. Then my 3DS tells me that I should press the home key, and turn off my 3DS before trying again to connect to the store.
I've been able to do system updates just fine, and I can use the browser flawlessly, so I don't think it's a wireless issue.
Could someone sell me on it? I watched a Youtube video once and it looked like it was just Donkey Kong with jumping plus more levels?
It plays nothing like the original Donkey Kong, and it's probably the best platformer I ever played on the original GB. Mario's moveset is basically a prototype for his Super Mario 64 moveset, with backflips and handsprings, which makes controlling him an absolute joy. It's particularly well-suited to play on the go, as the levels are really short, but there's tons of them.

Pronunciation and dialects. A lot of people now are pronouncing "than" like "then". I'd whip out the IPA for this but I'm too lazy.
In other news, I just dropped $950 on a laptop, so the 3DS is going to have to wait. After seeing the Robin Williams commercial, this pains me.

Seems to mainly be a fix for the Ridge Racer issue the last one introduced. But they also said it includes stability improvements and minor tweaks.
