Darren Aronofsky and Michael Chabon create the best thing ever
this guy directed Black Swan and Requiem For A Dream and The Wrestler and The Fountain, he's pretty great
this handsome Semitic man has written a whole bunch of fuckawesome books about Jews doing awesome things including the Yiddush Policeman's Union and Gentleman of the Road, which was originally called 'Jews With Swords'
they are directing and writing a pilot for HBO about a bunch of magicians and con-men who fight Germany and the Nazis during World War 2
Also since it's an hbo show, and they love recycling actors, I would like the following actors to be involved somehow: Ian mcshane, John hawkes, Michael k williams, Ray Stevenson, James purefoy, Damian Lewis, Clancy brown, and Bret mckenzie.
my point is that you can boil down anything into a silly sounding concept
Arronofsky and Chabon bring a lot of creative pedigree, plus the premise itself evokes things like Hellboy, Indiana Jones, and The Invaders which are all things I personally love and I'm sure many of the other people who are excited about this are.
Posts

I don't get hype
"it's about a guy in tights fighting a clown"
Yeah, but at least there's historical precedent for something like this.
Besides that it's Chabon and Aronofsky. That's pretty exciting I think.
I certainly have yet to meet anybody who is
it looks.... eh
No
It's about being the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs.

And HBO's track record is pretty stellar
