Getting from Disneyland to Universal Studios

Hi folks - just wondering from experience, what is the best way for a tourist to get from Disneyland to Universal Studios in Los Angeles? I will be staying at a hotel about 500 meters from Disneyland park. Taxi willl be too expensive for me and i dont even want consider hiring a car. Ive seen many shuttle type buses and read about trains but am still a little unsure. Any advice or direction would be a huge help.

    Your hotel desk should be able to give you the most accurate information, this won't be an uncommon question for them.

    Google gave this shuttle service as an option, though I don't know how reputable it is.

    I've heard mixed things about Google Maps for LA public transit. I'd look into www.metro.net

    you could do a shuttle/taxi from where you are to amtrak to downtown and switch at union station to the red line, but it's more of a hassle than its' worth for a day trip. i'd talk to your hotel about doing a shuttle.

    We did a day trip type tour to universal and it was pretty good. I would say that if you're just in it for the rides one day is enough but we felt a bit rushed trying to go to some of the shops and you can forget about a sit down meal.
