damn these tickets. I have successfully filled one of my terabyte HD's with steam games.:shock:
it may be time to take it out and toss it on the house server....
For those who don't know much about King's Bounty and want a recommendation...well, I can't speak firsthand, but I remember Tycho really seems to like it.
This has got to be some of the most ridiculous crap in recent memory: King's Bounty, and the Armored Princess standalone expansion, for eleven dollars and twenty-five cents.
That isn't some kind of referral link or something, it's not a part of some campaign. It's just a couple of ridiculously smart games for a completely stupid price, the first of which appeared like a heavenly host when my faith in the personal computer as a context for amusement was situated at a point far, far south of the valid graphable area. If you find yourself in a similar predicament, or simply wonder why "they" don't make "them" like they used to, you can spend less than twelve dollars and fix that. Maybe forever. And if you're still unconvinced, there is a bulletpoint in the sell text which reads:
> Possibility to turn your horse into a Pegasus which can fly
SOLD (if I hadn't bought it already)
For my part, they seem to look goddamn gorgeous but I just know I'd never find time to play them...and I already passed up HoMM5, so...
Guys, I love Batman. Noir sorta-low-tech old-timey Batman. High-tech JLA Batman. Lovecraftian The Doom That Came to Gotham Batman. (Seriously, look this up, it's awesome.) Kevin Conroy "I AM THE NIGHT" Batman. Christian Bale "DO I LOOK LIKE A COP?!" Batman. Michael Keaton "Because I bought it in Japan." Batman. Even Val Kilmer "Chicks love the car" Batman.
Send me your favorite Batmoment, movies, TV, or (of course) comix. If you have the most awesome moment or think like me and pick the moment I almost posted instead of that Batman Begins scene, I will give you Batman: Arkham Asylum, and you, too, can leap off buildings while humming The Animated Series theme song.
Some disclaimers:
- If there are two people who are tied (both have awesome moments or both picked my Secret Moment), I will resort to random.org.
- You should be a long-time member (that is to say, I'd like to see a high post count or a join date from Long Ago). If I see some dude who joined 2 weeks ago and has 4 posts, he is going to be cleaning up guano in the Batcave.
- Entries should be sent as PMs to me. If my PM inbox fills up (I don't think it will but You Never Know), I will leave a post directing people to my email instead.
- Contest ends at 9 PM tonight, when I will dart out of a high society event while the Batsignal shines in the sky.
Again, I already own AA on Steam, but I still want to chime in on my all-time favorite Bat moment.
For me, this will always be the greatest interpretation of Batman's origin; no other medium, including Batman Begins and its rather sporadic origin montage, can compare to the raw emotion, pacing, and musical cues from this scene alone.
I have to admit I bought Left 4 Dead 2 for the TF2 stuff, and also just in case Steam decides to give Australians the proper decapitation-having version if Australia brings in an 18+ rating for games. I hope they would just say "okay, now your laws allow it, we're just gonna flip this switch here and patch everyone's game."
Probably not gonna play it much until then, but five bucks is a pretty good deal.

Thank you very much CroakerBC for your help buying Eye of the North for me and my cousin (even if those lazy Steam server didn't want to cooperate).
I hope I will have the opportunity to return the favour so if you see something just drop me a PM.
Finished episode 3 of BTTF last night. I am firmly entrenched in the "shit just got real" category of the plot. This game is phenomenal. I've never really played an adventure game before but it's probably the perfect genre for the game.
So I was going to buy the Left 4 Dead 2 Four Pack to gift out but apparantly Steam won't let me because I already own the game. Individual copies, no problem, but not the four pack. What the hell Steam.
Man I want to get Jamestown since so many PAers talk about it, but I'm expecting to go to an Amusement park on Saturday and I'd need the $5 to buy a small soda lol. Normally I would pay the $5 but I don't know. I've never really played shmups like it and I don't want to pay $5 right now to experiment.
Should I skip the small soda/risk not having enough for Knott's steam thread?
Yeah I want Prototype but I'm only willing to pay about half of what they're asking right now. Also on the "not worth it" list, Lost Planet 2 and Arcania.
SAme here regarding Prototype. The game interest me but for some reason, I can't convince myself to buy it at more than 10$. I was hoping it would be lower, considering newer, better game were on sale for less than 10$ already. Considering Batman Arkham Asylum is 7.50$ vs double for Prototype is saying a lot. Arkham is an amazing game.

Oh man. If you've never played an adventure game before and BttF has your socks knocked off...

Have we learned a lesson about why we wait until the last day?
No. Why?
You make a list of games you want to buy during the sale. You don't buy them until the last day because they might be daily deals. You jumped the gun and this is what happens.
KF is definitely worth the $5 price tag, it's incredibly fun with PAer, and it's one of those rare FPSes that doesn't have a bunch of assholes on the mic for messing up. KF pubs I've been in are probably the most mature I've seen.
Probably grabbing Jamestown, because it looks awesome and I'm awful at shumps.

What the hell are you all talking about? It IS on daily deal. That's why I bought it.
Hmmm, Left 4 Dead. Do I need to have people to play with?
The PA Steam group for L4D is still very (hyper)active but only if you're looking for Versus games in L4D2.
Playing co-op with pubbies is, to put it mildly, a mixed bag.
You can play with bots, which is less satisfying but also less rage-inducing.
There's an active PA L4D group? can someone swing me an invite? I haven't been able to get into L4D2 as much as I'd like, but I logged an obscene number of hours on the original when it first came out.
Armadeaddon is so active that we actually use the group chat.
Join chat for an invite (easier that way).
EDIT: Also, I'm pretty sure people could get a campaign going. Just remember that admins can announce it for you if no one in chat wants to play.
It is only humans you fight. The problem is that there are a lot of them and their guard posts respawn too frequently. I was not able to bring myself to finish the game (yet, at least) but I certainly got $5 worth of fun out of it. The environment is unbelievable. Very atmospheric, very pretty, very cool.
Thanks. Now that I read that I seem to remember reading similar comments when the game was first released.

I think they mean the daily deals are 12 games on the list. The franchise sale (which you probably bought) was good all through the sale.
His problem was that he had succumbed to the Newell yet again and bought the Sims 3. He wasn't raging that he had "just bought it" like yesterday before it was a daily. Vegan misinterpreted him.

Far Cry 2 is a hell of a game, but my discs are right there and I have to conserve my money
Other than that, I am uninterested in today's deals

FUCK YOU STEAM
Not as far as I know, and such a mod would instantly make Far Cry 2 one of the best open world shooters ever made.
There are no Far Cry 2 mods.
Game would have been a ready made paradise playground for modders, but thaaaaaaanks, Ubisoft!

It could be because its a UT2k4 mod, which I didnt know prior to purchasing but kinda wish I did. Its worth buying though, its pretty fun.

wait until game_is_on_daily_sale OR last_day
ensures you get the lowest price for the games you want

Edit: Also, I'm glad they removed the upload video ticket. Why they put it up there in the first place when it was a crapshoot is beyond me.
It IS on daily sale.
From what I understand, not really. But there is an overarching plot to the whole thing. The order is Prophecies -> Factions -> Nightfall.
Probably grabbing Jamestown, because it looks awesome and I'm awful at shumps.

Ohhhh, I thought you were angry because you bought it yesterday or something. I see.
Holy Fucking shit!
If that worked on the steam version I'd break my mouse clicking the buy button so fast.
I guess i'll have to make do with getting Batman and playing through it again with the mouse and keyboard this time

It seems to me that there is a miss-communication here. What was your problem with the Sims 3 pack?
Edit: Ah never mind. It's the "Fuck you steam for making me spend money" post.
I think they mean the daily deals are 12 games on the list. The franchise sale (which you probably bought) was good all through the sale.
The fact that Steam put it on sale and made me buy it!
Thought I was safe, but just bought Atom Zombie Smasher, Guardians of Graxia, and Eschalon Book II.
