Nice haul so far... especially considering I completely missed the first three days of the Sale due to being annihilated by work. Want to know how much I serve the Newell? My old laptop (It was a cuttign edge gaming laptop once upon a time) probably can't handle Arkham Asylum at all... but I bought since, hey, when I get a new PC someday I'll be able to play it THEN.
So now for the questions:
1) I love RPGs. Is the Last Remnant a good pickup?
2) Any recommendations for games unliekly to be Dailies? I love adventure games (the girlfriend and I like playing old point and clikcs like The Longest Journey together - hence Sybera), RPGs (including odder stuff like Terraria - I guess thats an RPG?), and action games in the vein of VVVV and Super Meat Boy (most hours Ive ever put into a game). Although any real good game is welcome - I do love me Half-Life 2 and the Portals.
3) Tech help! Im having trouble running Syberia. After leaving the Notary's office I headed for the Voralberg factory but after getting through the main doors the game keeps crashing when I hit the screen with the fountain. Kinda infuriating.
Weeks prior to the start of the sale The Last Remnant was at the top of my discount sale wish list. And here I am at a point where I'm still trying to finish up Dragon Age II, start Dragon Age Origins Ultimate and start Fallout 3 I don't know if I can take another RPG on the plate.
I was even crazy enough to even consider buying Divinity II this morning. I convince my self to stay away from Divinity II after watching videos of the combat in motion (score 1 for Mr. Wallet!)
At this point I'm trying to get to a mindset in which I save my money and have Deus Ex: Human Revolution to look forward to next month.
Ehhhh I don't want to buy Universe Sandbox but it's calling me! Someone talk me out of it.
Hah. Don't expect me to talk you out of it. I'm staring at it myself. I just need to figure out if Im buying The Last Remnant along with it (aaaannnd MAAAAAYBE Mass Effects 1/2. Ive already beat them - though 2 beats up my old laptop pretty hard - but would love a simple Steam copy)
How long do I have to decide on ME1 & 2? I shouldn't, but dang that's a crazy price.
As of right now, 12 hours and 25 minutes.
If it makes you feel any better, it often goes on sale at other direct download outlets at 75% off, so just wait and it will come around again. Wait a minute, I mean, SERVE THE NEWELL. BUY NOW!
Once I learned the ins and outs of Atom Zombie, the ticket wasn't too hard at all.
It's actually a really fun game.
It's my sleeper hit of this sale. It's Tower Defense meets Choplifter (I have never played a Tower Defense game nor Choplifter, so my assessment might be way off).

It's nothing like Choplifter.
In other news, Choplifter was fucking awesome.
In related news, I am very, very old.

Well I don't know, because I've never played Conviction. The description says it can be done single-player. What I'm getting at is, I'm not entirely sure what the Insurgency Pack even GETS me.
Long Answer: Absolutely yes. Ive only played a bit of it, before deciding to wait for my girlfriend to be out of town so I can turn off all the lights and be isolated, but what I experienced was excellent and friends who've played it give it rave reviews.
Still trying out a little Alpha Protocol in my spare time, although I've only as far as finishing up all the Graybox orientation/tutorial stuff.
I am in awe that a game made by a semi-major developer and put out by a big-name publisher was actually released with animations this bad.
Nevertheless, it hasn't driven me off yet. It's certainly unique, which I imagine is a big part of the reason why it seems to have so many passionate fans in spite of its deficiencies. I do sort of enjoy being a tool in the conversation system. I wasn't trying to make old accountant/janitor/obstacle course guy hate me, I swear. At least I wasn't at first...

It gives you additional Deniable Ops levels.
Which are essentially Conviction's version of the Terrorist Hunt mode in the Rainbow Six games, in that you (or you and some other dude) make your way through a series of self-contained levels, shooting out lights and stealth-ganking mooks.

To be the voice of moderation, you could buy ME1 now and wait for the winter sale to snag ME2.
This is good advice. It gives you time to keep an eye out for an ME2 DLC sale over at Bioware (fat chance).

Does anyone know if you can use savedata from the Mac version of Spacechem with the Windows version?
I might be losing my MacBook for some (much needed) repairs tomorrow/today, and I'd like to know if I should just replay through the tutorial stuff or what.

So a few extra levels. I could get behind that for a few bucks... Thanks.
Mass Effect games also go on sale quite a bit (if not on Steam, places like Direct2drive), and that's only likely to increase with a sequel on the way.
Well, I went ahead and picked up Universal Sandbox. Anyone able to give me their thoughts on the Last Remnant? Im should head to bed in a few hours and when I wake up, new dailies will be in place.
Don't look at me like that! I work in a restaurant. We live odd hours
I hear that PC Last Remnant is good, and I decided that for $10, I'd give it a shot. In full disclosure, I have spent about $30 this whole sale, and odds are not gonna pay more than that.

I grabbed Alpha Protocol. The reviews of this game are insanely inaccurate. The story and conversations are groundbreaking, and the combat is passable, but not great. I didn't experience a single game breaking bug, or any bug besides a graphical glitch once in awhile. Worth the 5 bucks I paid for it, and then some.

Let it be known, once again and forever that Iolo (I would lime that, but I am posting from my phone) is a classy, gentlemanly bard of the highest caliber. I was walking out of the movies with my wife when I checked my email and found Mass Effect 2 waiting for me. Now I need to finish 1 so I can enjoy this gift. Much appreciated, Iolo!
Part of me wants Amnesia, but the other part of me doesn't particularly like scary stuff. Strangely, exploring abandoned buildings and exploring dark decrepit places doesn't phase me in real life, so there's a chance I might like the game.
On a side note, I'm really enjoying King's Bounty Crossworlds. I'm not really sure the best way to allocate my runes as a warrior, the scouting talent in the mind (?) tree seems like it would be really helpful, but am I better off working my way down the might tree first?
I think the only (conditionally admittedly) necessary piece of ME2 DLC is Stolen Memories because Kasumi is a great party member, her flashbang gernade is awesome, and the SMG you get during her mission is a phenomenal weapon if you play a class that can use SMG's. Lair of the Shadowbroker is also excellent and worth getting once you've beaten ME2.

Ok...so my second campaign of Atom Zombie Smasher went far better than the first. It was almost like I had a clue what I was doing!
I even "won" by a few thousand points, and the levels that were harder were more 'challenge' to do as best I could rather than 'rage inducing limits' as it felt often during my first play through.

Atom Zombie Smasher is many, many times easier if you get Artillery as your first mercenary.
Getting it early while you have no other combat mercs allows it to level quickly, and with every level it can take an additional shot before reloading. Basically, levels matter a ton for the Artillery, moreso than the other combat mercs by a ridiculously huge margin.

Just worked for me. So keep trying I guess.
It's been 50% off for most of (maybe all of) the sale, which makes me think it's not getting a daily deal.
It's on my "maybe pick it up on the last day" list, along with Solar 2 and some other odds and ends.
-Syberia
-Lume
-Braid
-The King's Bounty pack
-The Monkey Island Pack
-The Precipice Pack
-SWKoTOR
-Aquaria
-Arkham Asylum

Well now I'm definately buying it.
12 hours, roughly.
I can also think of few convincing reasons not to buy both ME games.

The only real reason I have is that I still have Witcher 2 to finish.
and that I just spent 1k on a new car

Fair enough, but $13 for two of the best RPG games of this generation is a really awesome deal.

Low-five popcap discount waiting buddy, other than plants versus zombies they rarely go on sale and its kind of annoying.

It's an exceptionally fair price, if that helps. (Though ME1 has been lower: $5)
