you shouldn't use pain train on soldier because equalizer is probably the best melee unlock in the game (okay vita-saw or axetinguisher maybe)
but on demoman i could see it, although the caber is good too
No way the riding crop is tops.
Use it on a GRU heavy and you can get him to the point 70% faster. Or you can alternate between half your team and keep them all constantly 40% faster.
Ive decided after so many years playing pyro I just cannot play medic. I grow disgusted when the target I am healing refuses to push forward and just end up pushing myself to the point where earlier I got about 7 kills with the syringe gun just spamming it as I advanced toward the enemy spawn, past the enemy spawn, and ended up kiting a scout, a sniper, and a spy (who kept trying to stab the scout) back toward the previous spawn on a payload map. No way in hell i should have lived that long.
I swear the syringe gun out damages the flamethrower if you can lead them properly.
Such a terrible enemy team. You stabbed them three times in a row approaching from the same direction. Admittedly there's only one way for you to get up but you'd think after the second time people would check that corner.
No no, same damage. They just take 4 point ticks as they run to the medic/health pack/supply cabinet/douse themselves in piss/Douse themselves in milk/Eat something/get put out by a friendly pyro/jump in the water as opposed to 6 point ticks.

vita-saw? seriously? Maybe for medics that plan on dying often.
I'm normally the kind of guy who says "Yeah, but if you take 141 damage, what then?", but I've actually gotten some mileage out of the Vita-Saw lately. Obviously you don't plan to die, but someone's going to get through to you eventually, and coming back with 20% of your charge (because, statistically speaking, you're almost always above 20% charge) means a much quicker Uber. On average, the Ubersaw is probably better (especially for those cases where you get a 25-50% bonus to your full Uber), but starting with 20% out of the gate without having to be at point-blank range of the enemy is worth 10 HP.

So I've been meaning to get back into this, and bearing in mind that the last time I played was before any of the class updates and when there were only six maps, what is the best way to go about doing that?

Although I don't really get a lot of kills with it, being a scout.

but from then on you're speeding up like the dregs of whatever respawned with you
i think first life crop then equalizer from then on is the best
you live far too often when you shouldn't with the equalizer

i'm sorry if you never die, i am just not that good! 20% uber owns after a headshot
or a backstab
or a sneaky scout
or a suicidal soldier
or a sticky trap
or a wrong corner to turn around
or a stray pipe
it's stupid looking and I don't play spy anyway

you might never get in a situation where meleeing a dude for ubercharge happens
thus, on average you should be using the vitasaw
(hint, 90% of comp play bans the vitasaw!! its too good!!)
