As a primarily Loch and Loader who carries around an eyelander, I take offense to being grouped with those Persian Persuader/Screen/Booties fuckers. My sword gets me killed more than anything, no bullshit instant charge crits. We need a new term for those kinds of demoknights, like Nazis or something.

i know i normally post joke posts about how much i own (even though i'm actual garbage)
and shit
let's get real, seriously
why aren't the servers running nospread
for those not in the know, it's a server command that makes it so there isn't a damage spread
ie, a pistol shot from the exact same range will do the exact same damage every single time, have a link about it
it makes the game more consistent without really stepping on anyone's toes! i would like to hear if anyone has any beef with this as well as if any of the server dudes would be willing to oblige
edit: as well as fixed bullet spread, if that's possible! that means that shotguns fire in a fixed pattern! consistency is the best!
i think lustre does bring up a good point, but i dunno
i just dislike that sometimes you get basically denied a kill because your shotgun hits are varying 20 damage at the same range (similarly, sometimes you live too long because they are shooting weak momentarily)
if you get one and have a spare name/description tag
name it "WWF Noh Mercy"
Description: The best Spy mask for the Nintendo 64.

I told Mavers you guys were asking about damagespred or whatever it was you were asking about on the server. If you want it changed on the HonC you should talk at him.
While damagespread/consistent spread doesn't bother me particularly, crits should stay on because fuck you.
It's not like you guys are playing terribly right now. These are semi-public servers and being stomped into the ground by people who play more than you is no fun, the random element helps a little, especially when you're not being reliably 2 shot by a scout.
I'm with the guys that prefer the random nature. Sure, I swear I get killed by a crit rocket every way I turn but I can deal with that if it means I get some crit rockets every now and then.
i literally did not talk about nocrits because i know that will never change
but i don't see a good reason for spread to be on the server, considering its a random factor that is mostly invisible (hit numbers tell you the story, but only if you pay attention to that kind of stuff)
I think its nocrit time now more than ever. It's not just kritzkrieg anymore, the game is full of sure fire ways to get crits or mini crits. Random crits can definitely go.
Shit, you can just turn random crits off and not tell anyone and most people won't realise for a few maps at least.
I usually end up playing on servers that have random crits turned off. And then I happen to end up to a server with crits on and I randomly fire a crit rocket and wonder what's wrong because that isn't supposed to happen. That being said I like the randomness; I think it's mostly my friends. They always pick the servers so that's why I'm always on crit-less servers.

I'd be willing to give it a trial, on one condition.

I'd say most of the time I'm not fond of crits. If someone kills me with one, it's kinda frustrating, especially if it's from a rocket from across the map. If I get one, I just feel kind of bad like I didn't earn that kill.
I dunno. Ultimately I don't really care if they're on or off.

What it's like to play heavy or demoknight.
We should get someone to set up a server for this (all you really need is turn off balance teams) and do drunken scouts vs heavy.
I'd be interested in your Noh Mercy.
Also yes there's nothing wrong with the targe and eyelander combo.
Has 90% of comp play banned the heavy yet?
They're Demoknights, we're Targelanders.

You could stealth disable nospread and probably nobody would notice.
I mean, I wouldn't protest or get up in arms if it changed, but I'm fine the way it is.
but nospread is a bit weird, it lowers the threat range on some classes
like soldiers can't sometimes oneshot scouts and stuff
To me, fixed bullet spread means someone can take the actual time and effort to memorize the spread.
can't
do that for any benefit?

i argued about this back when the option was first introduced, and the majority opinion is that they enjoy the random nature of the game
we're a much smaller minority, those who refer no crit/no spread.
luckily, those are the standard options in the competitive community, so it's not that big of an issue.

and really, it would only serve to help people!

If I played Heavy and the fake crits were also turned off, I'd notice.

it doesn't matter as long as damage is consistent
I dunno. Ultimately I don't really care if they're on or off.
Also I don't like no crit servers because then I have one less thing to complain about.
I needs my things to complain about.
Or that I should complain about having a complaining problem?
I can do these things.
Easily.
nocrits, no damage spread, and no sirtoons
very rarely will we play payload
and heavy limit will be 1
real talk i would easily chip in like five dollars a month to something like this
i am too lazy to actually make a server though
Can you do both at once, though?
