I know it's Penny-Arcade, and therefore not expected to be consistent with or mirroring reality at all, but it's still kinda weird that she's stuck at a teenish age while Mike and Jerry's kids have been shown as aging.

Comic is still good.

the thing about it is that Little Gabe and Elliot and Ronia are real humans and part of Mike and Jerry's lives and their escapades are often the catalyst for stories

And it was mentioned in Friday's comic thread too: not a fan of how large and round Annarchy's head and face have gotten. Someone said chipmunk then, but it has since gotten even larger.

Also, it's not like the two main characters have aged. The only comic that is like PA in terms of being mostly a three panel joke I've seen consistently age their characters is PvP

Even pvp doesn't really age it's characters so much as suddenly device they should look two years older, complete with special effects and an achievement notification.

In Penny Arcade, there seems to be two kind of characters.
Those who ARE actual people, like Robert Khoo and Mike and Jerry's kids, who actually age and change as time passes, and the characters who are "based on real people", but never really change, like Gabe and Tycho, their wives, and Ann.
There's only Brenna in that lot who underwent a radical redesign in the early years when she got glasses and her signature hairstyle. She still changed a lot under Gabe's different art styles, but her character remained mostly the same aside for that.

And then there are the fictional characters too, like Frank and Charles. (Although Charles got one major redesign too.)

I like that the characters don't age. I want my 30 seconds of escapism three days a week. I want the PA universe to be something comfortable, something safe.

Tycho and Ann are my model for how I intend to interact with my future nieces and nephews. It's doubtful I'll ever manage to have kids of my own, but my sister probably will and being an uncle seems like it's probably more fun anyway. The only problem is that I don't really think there's anything I could do with or teach the tykes that would seriously piss their parents off.

I recently witnessed a guy having a heart attack at a convention. It was Anime Expo, and the paramedics got there so fast it was incredible. Good job LA convention center!
