I bought it last night and downloaded all the exes, but haven't screwed with anything yet. How does the Steam redemption/link-up work?
On your Humble Bundle download page will be a button that will get your Steam activation code. You copy that and click the +Add A Game button, select Activate A Product On Steam and paste in the code.

Ah, IIRC, on the special web address they send you where you can download the .exes, there is a button on top where you can get your Steam or Desura Key, it's one Key that will redeem all five games.
And yeah, I bought it as soon as I received the HB email, broke and all, I can't pass VVVVVV, gave a dollar over the average (Which was around 5.50 when I bought it).
Whoops, guess I should have paid more attention. Once I get to the download page for these things I just frantically click through the games and don't pay attention to anything else. Thanks!
I got it for my girlfriend as a present - to kickstart her gaming career on the mac, so to speak. I already own VVVVVV - it's worth for that one alone.
I bought Crayon Physics Deluxe back when it was on sale from the developer as a "pay what you want", but I've actually been hoping it would show up on one of these bundles so I could get it on Steam. Yay! It's true that it doesn't have amazing design or anything, but it's so fun to play with a tablet.
Been wanting to try VVVVVV, too. I've heard of AYIM but I have no idea what it is, and I haven't heard of the other two at all, so I'll be going into those totally blind.
Played AYIM during the Steam summer camp, it's a puzzle base game that let's you rotate the world. You rotate the world to get to the end, it can get a bit tricky in the later stages. It's not that bad of a game.
That game was made by a group of students at my university a few years back - saw the early prototypes of it. It looked already quite interesting back then, so I might have to sneak on my gf's computer to try it sometime.
For me, the best part of AYIM is the sound. The music and sound effects are just brilliant.
The Humble Indie Bundle 3 went on sale yesterday and is already looking set to shatter previous sales records as the best selling Humble Indie Bundle yet. After only 17 hours of going live the bundle had already raised a total of $500,000 USD, with $4048 USD donated by Minecraft creator Markus 'Notch' Persson.
Holy crap.
The second Humble Bundle had Braid, Machinarium, and Osmos. All three of those are worth far more than a penny. The first bundle had Aquaria and World of Goo. Even the Frozenbyte Bundle had Trine. I can't think of a single bundle that I regretted donating money toward.

I don't like Trine, Splot still isn't out, and I haven't tried either Shadowgrounds game yet.
But it's not like I regret tossing them a few bucks. If nothing else, I helped Frozenbyte stay in business, and helped ensure there would be more Humble Bundles in the future.
You be crazy! Machinarium was and still is the best thing they've offered.
So far out of bundle 3 - crayon deluxe is my fave - very charming - cogs is alright - and hammerfight....less said the better. Havent tried the other 2 yet
I had a weird first impression of it too, but after sticking with it a bit I totally changed my mind. I think it's incredible. It definitely has a steep learning curve - on several fronts - and its fair share of indie game jank, but once I got used to it I started having a lot of fun. It's viscerally satisfying to smack the shit out of something with a well-placed blow, and the aesthetics and setting are amazing. The actual plot is intriguing too, though pretty tough to follow.
The best advice I can give is to turn the mouse sensitivity way up, as that will make the controls feel much more responsive. Remember, lower numbers means more sensitive. Try something around 500 or possibly lower (optimal setting might depend on your hardware). I've also heard that turning the graphics down a bit can help make it easier to see what the fuck's going on, which is definitely a problem sometimes when there's a lot happening onscreen at once.
Also is there anyway to get back to your download page for the previous bundles?
no - not yet at least - you would have to go find the email that was sent to you to get there
There is a key resender, you can find it at the very bottom of the page. You may have to contact them directly to get a key from a previous bundle, but I bet that wouldn't be any problem either as long as you still have access to the email that it was originally sent to.
Even though Cortex Command is unfinished, it's definitely worth a look.
You should download it and check it out. It's clunky and weird and totally hilarious.
Especially if you can find a friend to play it split-screen with (an Xbox controller works very well for this), totally hilarious. Playing against each other or playing together against the AI, either way is a lot of fun. Getting stuck, or having your legs blown off and having to jetpack everywhere, or calling in an equipment drop and accidentally crushing all of your troops, blowing something up and having a tiny piece of shrapnel fly across the map and decapitate someone, all of these things and more are good times. I also like playing against the AI and watching as they try and storm a base and a pile of bodies and weapons just totally fills up the tunnels.
I'm going to have to reinstall this when I get home, thanks.

I just tried the Key Resender personally, since I was having trouble locating the email I got for the second bundle (I want to grab Cortex Command and play it some more, too). The email they sent me have the download pages for every one of the Bundles I've bought. That's pretty damn swell for them to keep all of that around.

What he said. Once you get used to the controls/tweak them enough, Hammerfight is pretty damn awesome.

I love these bundles.
Giving to charity and getting games at the same time has to be the best combination of anything.
I just tried Hammerfight and it's awesome. I've had my eye on Crayon Physics for awhile too. I bought VVVVVV awhile ago and beat it and it's awesome, but I'll probably play through it again. Cogs I've had on steam, but never played it. Looking forward to trying out And Yet It Moves too.
Has anyone found a way to use a 360 controller to play Hammerfight?
This is my sig.
There are many others like it, but this one is mine.

Not that I know of, but I feel like that would make it way too easy and take some of the charm away from it if that makes any sense.
It's not that it has crappy controls, but it's not that easy to get the hammer swinging fast and keeping the momentum, which adds some challenge to the game and keeps it exciting once you manage to land a big hit.
Just turn your DPI down really low to get the swinging down easier. And yeah, I'm still mainly using flails/rocks, most everything else just has too short of reach.
There are ways to get controllers to work for games like hammerfight. Requires programs like Xpadder, which emulate keyboard/mouse commands with your controller. Pretty easy to set up, though I can't speak for accuracy in this case as haven't bothered to try it for Hammerfight.
When playing the campaign always choose the hardest path too. It opens up two new game modes, and the missions aren't that much harder than the normal path. The other modes can be fun but the main draw is the money you earn in any mode goes across them all so it is a lot easier to buy all the extra stuff.

They just added a free game to the third bundle, but I already bought and used my Steam key. How do I add the new game to Steam?

This one is worth at least a fiver.
But Machinarium was also in the second bundle, which is great. The soundtrack for Machinarium is worth $5.
No but seriously, the fact they dig Crayon Physics means that this pack is a must-buy.

I had completely forgotten that Cortex Command was in that. Maybe I should give it a try some time.
