I find it hilarious that people are looking for good gameplay in title with Suda51 involved.
It's like going to see Sin City expecting a feel-good romantic comedy.
EDIT: And just to clarify, I fucking love Killer7 to death but the last thing someone is going to praise it for is good controls (at least, good in a conventional sense). You don't play these games for a solid gameplay-driven experience. You play these games because you saw a zombie in half and rainbows fly out.

Even in Germany we've been using "Aggro" for a long time.
Hell, there is a rap group/record label called "Aggro Berlin" and they've been around way before WoW.

I don't get what was wrong with the gameplay in No more heroes or shadows of the damned.
I mean the overworld in NMH was idiotic but Travis murdered fools like a dream. And Shadows was RE4 with devil may cry puzzles.
I assume Killer seven being a rail shooter was somehow detrimental?
I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.

OMFG, is someone really shitting their pants because the word 'aggro' was used in a spoken sentence?
Have fun with that. I'm anticipating a game that looks like mindless, braindead, fun.
With that video, the Jimmy Urine costume finally makes sense. Until now I thought it was the most random choice. Speaking of costumes, just saw that all of the non-preorder costumes are available in America as well as Japan. So we should get the console-specific and anime costumes over here.
Shame this got pushed back to June, but still so excited for it.
I just bought Shadows of the Damned, hoping that'll be a good time. I've been thinking about picking up No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise on PS3. What I played of NMH on the Wii, the combat at least would have been fun if it weren't for the controls. An analog stick option is definitely nice. I don't know about the chores/side missions.
But yeah, I typically hate zombies and zombie-related things, but you know, I hate vampire shit too, but I love Buffy, and this basically looks like Buffy with zombies.
Also Tara Strong is one of my favorite voice actresses.
I get the feeling that, like with Bayonetta and Vanquish, I'd beat this game once or twice and be done with it. I mean, I fucking loved Bayonetta. A lot. But I don't think I ever finished a third full playthrough.

...Is this bad?
How many playthroughs do you expect out of your average game?

Five or six, depending on the length. Of course, your milelage may vary, natch. But I don't even remember how many times I played KotOR.
...This is going to sell like bonkers, isn't it?

And then gamers are going to continue to bitch about the cartoonish way that pop culture depicts gaming as a weird hobby pursued by sexually frustrated males, aren't they?
Fair enough for you as long as you bear in mind that you are far from the average customer in that regard
Oh, of course. When I first started gaming I had very few games, so the ones I had I replayed quite a bit. So I have slightly skewed expectations in replay value.

I don't think Suda51 games ever sell well. Shadows of the Damned did alright if I remember but no where near blockbuster level. His titles tend to fall into Cult Classic levels of success. But who knows..maybe word of mouth if this game is good will make this a zany exception.

Wasn't No More Heroes one of the best selling games on the Wii?

I believe Shadows of the Damned completely tanked. I didn't like the game but I still hope I'm wrong.
I strongly doubt it will be a blockbuster. Still, it will be an entertaining and creative.
I'm not quite convinced of that yet. From the gameplay videos I've seen it seems very been-there-done-that. Normally I would have jumped on a pre-order by now but honestly the game looks flat still.

This is how I am as well, but for me it more depends on the length of the game vs how much it costs. If a game is 5-10 hours but only costs $20? Sure 1 or 2 play-throughs is good enough.
As for this game, it looks interesting but I've never particularly been a Suda51 fan. I'm generally more interested in watching Let's Plays of his games rather than playing them myself. :P
I had to preorder this in order to get a giant lollipop at SXSW. I was going to cancel my preorder later. But now I'm almost considering buying it at release.
I won't, but I'll look for price drops and try to buy it soon after release!

Heh. These days, if I get one playthrough out of a game, I consider it a rousing success. If I get multiple playthroughs, I consider it a work of pure genius.

shadows of the damned sold 24,000 copies the month it launched. it was a total flop. i remember seeing a lot of headlines at the time about it and child of eden both selling like shit.
nothing about this particular game interests me, and lot of it actively turns me off. i dunno, maybe something will change my mind but eh.

SotD was a pretty ok game that bizarrely punished you for hopping down waist high fences too early (you couldn't climb up to go down alternate paths for items). It didn't really have the appeal of RE4 (or the brand recognition) so I'm not terribly surprised it flopped.
Oh wow, that girl is super hot. I'm gonna IMDB her and see...oh fuck, thats Timmy Turner.
Ugh, well at least I can throw on this episode of Californication. That actress is hot too. And funny. I've seen her in stuff too, lemmie just google here and...oh fuck thats Bobby Hill.

You know. Some kind of healthy release.
All right, people. It is not a gerbil. It is not a hamster. It is not a guinea pig. It is a death rabbit. Death. Rabbit. Say it with me, now.

Aces Wild is a pretty stellar game.

Pretty sure "bad game but cheerleader knickers" isn't a genre.

Flower, Sun and Rain is more of a walking simulator than anything else. I only managed to get through half of the game.
Suda51's good game is Silver Jiken.
Yeah, that'd probably be awkward.

I am loving this more and more with every trailer
I hope there are sections where you get to play as the sisters but that might be asking too much

No. It's more of a Twilight Sparkle voice.
