I can't remember if it's Aura's of Valor or another item that I previously thought was limited, but when I was doing my 100% run I discovered Aura's of Valor can drop in one-time-only dungeon near the end of the game. From some elite enemies or something. It's really rare, but theoretically you could get a lot of them. If it was that item.
I played through this for the first time at the end of 2009. I owned it on Dreamcast but never got around to finishing it, ended up seeing it through on Gamecube. Definitely an under appreciated classic.
The last try was the worst. Slowly growing my SP, Aika casting Delta Shield, Enrique casting Justice Shield. As I got within 1 turn of casting Prophecy, they hit me with a Chak Mol. 3 people get fatigued. Next turn I clear it with Fina's S-move. Then they hit Enrique with sleep. On the one turn I can't use Justice Shield they get off a full strength Chak Mol and kill everyone.
I really like that skills like Delta Shield and Justice Shield are in the game and actually useful. Makes boss fights a lot more interesting, even though they tend to be very long.
Got the purple moon crystal. Nice little scene there.
Now that I have the extreme altitude engines, it's a Discovery bonanza. Gonna make lots of cash. Glad I have a guide because I would never find some of these.
I'm still perplexed by how I was completely unable to find Spice Island on the Dreamcast version. I found it so quickly in Legends, but I used a bunch of guides for the Dreamcast version and just could not find it. I'm pretty sure I got it after like 30 different attempts of going, looking, and giving up.
I apologize for missing this thread, and want to share my love for the fact that in any other game, your family being kidnapped by the evil Empire and getting set to be executed would be the entire plot for any other RPG, but here it's like "What? They kidnapped my family and now we're facing unstoppable odds, have to break into an impenetrable fortress, and need to rescue them from the very heart of the city that wants me dead? LET'S DO THIS!"
The game is just so damn fun. You never feel like you're not doing something heroic and adventurey. It's like they looked into my brain when I was 6 and pulled out everything that would make me smile and turned it into a video game.

The game just likes presenting you with these events that would be near-impossible in other RPGs, then just going ahead and saying, "Wait a moment, you're badass pirates with an all-powerful ship that has a giant moon laser on it."
I also liked how the random NPCs in the world of Arcadia actually do stuff rather than sit around and make you do it. There's a certain scene near the end that proves my point quite eloquently.

Hmm. Maybe if you attacked the weakest of them with a Pirate's Wrath and took her out (relatively) quickly, that might help. The Ixa'ness Demons can only use Chak Mol when all three of them are on the field.

Goodbye, my love
?
I was thinking more along the lines of every NPC joining in to kick Galcian's ass, but yeah, that works too.
I've got the yellow crystal. I nailed that boss to the walls, it felt awesome doing 2 consecutive moonstone cannon hits. I feel like the end of the game is coming up, am I right?
This game is just good. I think I'm basically at the end:
Ramirez and Galcian have taken all the crystals and raised Soltis, and bombed Valua. Now I've got all my pirate bros (including Gordo, wtf) and we're going to go fight the traitor armada.
Buying up Power seeds for Vyse too. Gonna hulk him out.
Psht. Get back to me when you've killed the black looper. Then maybe you'll be a real blue rogue.
Did that. Piece of cake!
I went through and beat this last night. I bought a bunch of Power seeds for Vyse but I should have just burned all my gold doing that. His increm'd Pirate's Wraths were hitting for 8000+. Beat the final boss in 4 turns that way.
The last ship battle was pretty epic, I think that was my favorite part. Even with the ludicrously overpowered equipment I had for my ship, I still had to pound on the boss for a while, and watch my HP. Complete kits are kind of ridiculous at that point though. Cheap, no SP cost, full heals.
I am considering going back and killing another ~1000 enemies for the Vyse the Legend title, but I probably won't. Not interested in that grind. Everything else is done: all bounties, all discoveries, all treasure (I think).
Should be perfect. (olol "2 cubes duct taped together!") but you also have component out on the Wii.
Gamecube had component and 480p support as well. That's how I have mine hooked up right now to an old Sony Wega Trinitron CRT. I had to special order the component cable for the GC quite some time ago, so no idea if it would be difficult to find one now.
I'm gonna buy a wii or a gamecube just to play this again
How are gamecube games on wii? Perfect performance or glitchy?
Wii's backward compadability is hardware-based, not software emulation like the 360's or the PS3(when they were still making PS3 consoles that could play PS2 games) so it should work just as well as on the Gamecube.

Well if you aren't Vyse the Legend then you can't get the 3 Treasures. It's an extra boss fight, weapon, and discovery.
Actually Vyse the Legend isn't needed for the Three Treasures like I keep thinking it is. You only need 90% of the treasures. If you've gotten at least that or 100% or whatever then you might as well do them.

It still might be worth it to use it on the Ixa'ness bounty.
You get one for beating them, so at worst you'll be even.
There really isn't another fight more suited for it though, so I'd say go ahead.

That is the correct use for all money by that point in the game.
And I beat Daikyoma(I know I mangled the spelling) the Wealthy. Tough fight, fullscreen hard-hitting attack that also confuses is mean.

And no, I don't mean CGI cutscene airship battles, Final Fantasy.

Not on the later models unfortunately. And yeah, GC component cables sell for stupid money now.
