Road Warrior will soon become a documentary.

That is all I am saying.

Apparently there's a dude throwing burning socks out of his car to start some of the fires.

    wait, what?

Just read about it on the local news. It's only a suspicion at the moment but witnesses have given a description of the vehicle and such so we'll see what happens.

The goddamn evac on the other side of my town is back in effect because of a new fire by the way. I'm getting nervous.

They've brought in a suspect in Smith County, I'm assuming this is the sock guy you're talking about

The local news here stops operating in every way, including Twitter and their website, at 6pm. Glad to hear it.

Man wild fires aint no thang. We just had four burning the entire state of Arizona to the ground earlier this year at once!

Also didn't know it wasn't only San Diego that was blacked out. If one line can affect that much....no bueno.

I should probably have paid attention in school to learn sentence structure.

Its like they discovered the internet.. last winter.

I'm kind of worried about moving from bumfuck nowhere, Colorado back to southeast Virginia. I figure right now, I'm in a great location should some sort of world-shattering apocalypse come to pass, being that there's ranches and shit around, plenty of wilderness, and not a huge sprawling suburbia that I have to escape from.

Yeah wildfires happen in a lot of regions in the south. We had a few over here in FL earlier in the year. Then we had hurricanes to wash them all out

    it's just anachronistic

I don't get how it's anachronistic, it's just dumb living your life as if there's going to be an apocalypse. But people are free to be stupid.

    Wait a minute here

You guys don't have several fully stocked and self sustaining bunkers?

One in your home and several hidden ones scattered about the countryside

Well yeah, where am I supposed to keep all my wives that I'll mate with to repopulate the earth?

    I don't here

but my father's side project for a while has been to make our homestead less and less dependent on the world at large

we get all our water from a deep well, and a backup one ready to pump (with the tools and knowledge to modify both to hand-crank)

all their vegetables they grow themselves, the deep creek a few hundred yards away is kept clear and monitored and is full of fish

he's sending out soil samples to test to see if we can start a pecan orchard--need a potential source of fats and proteins

it's not really an apocalypse thing, as all of this stuff is just beneficial financially

but it's fun to talk about

in the event that I had to make my way home without a car, we figured out some bike-maps of the best route home to avoid heavy traffic and potentially dangerous areas like towns and such

we briefly considered burying some supply caches at intervals but decided that crossed the line into crazy

I'm actually stocking mine with illegal immigrants. I figure I'll need some for labor purposes. I won't feed them too much so it's always a good idea to keep extra ones in case some of them expire. I can also look to renting or selling them to other survivors. Perhaps even swap them for some wives. That is if a person was interested in such a business arrangement.

Now I just need to fix these shock collars. Damn things are breaking like you wouldn't believe.

So, San Diego lost power. Is this a thread to mention that? There is some word that there was an explosion at a power plant way out in the desert I guess.

Big surprise, another awful thing happening in America.

Man... When we get to 2012 this shit is going to get super-worse.

I like to think that 2012 will be disappointing compared to the other junk that's happened this year.
