Bullets and numbering (word 2003 / OpenOffice)

It's driving me insane. I'm trying to turn it Off COMPLETELY. Not just off for the duration of one numbering, i don't want to have to do it manually every time i create a numbered list.

Anyway to completely disable it?

    This should work for a quick fix:

    * Go into Tools
    * AutoCorrect Options
    * "AutoFormat as You Type" tab
    * Under "Apply As You Type," uncheck the following:
    - Automatic Numbered Lists
    - You can also turn off bullets here if you wish

    Hope that helps, just remember auto numbered lists will stay off until you turn it back on.
