COMMUNITY
Winner of the "Dumbest Emmy snub" award and the best comedy currently airing!
Community is a delightful, surreal show set in a community college where the rejects and losers go to stay, and where reality goes to die. It's self-aware, it's at times very experimantal with formats and themes, and it's got a diverse and absurd cast of characters, INCLUDING:
Jeff Winger (Joel McHale)
The leader of the study group and arguably the main character. Jeff's a lawyer that was caught using a phony degree, so he's in community college for 4 years to get a real one. Streetwise, charismatic and cynical. Adept at bringing the group back together with speeches about friendship. Often narcissistic and selfish. He has a big forehead.
Britta Perry (Gillian Jacobs)
A highschool dropout and ex-groupie who signed up to community college to find something to do with her life, currently that something being psychology. Like Jeff, she's also snarky and hipster-ish. She's also somewhat self-sabotaging and insecure, and is known amoung the group as being a bit of a downer. Has been described as "a pizza burn on the world's mouth" and "the opposite of Batman".
Annie Edison (Alison Brie)
Another highschool dropout (due to drug addiction) and the youngest of the group. Annie's the more innocent and naive type. This, combined with her being Alison Brie, leads to her being by far the most creeped on by the fanbase. Cheerful, but takes everything seriously. Adept at cowboy-themed paintball.
Troy Barnes (Don Glover)
A former star of highschool football in the same school that Annie attended, but intentionally sabotaged his career by injuring himself in a "keg flip", because he couldn't handle the pressure. Not too bright on occasion. By virtue of being Don Glover, hilarious when he cries, no matter what the situation. Best buds with Abed Nadir. Keeps a tally of "notches" under his desk.
Abed Nadir (Danny Pudi)
A very likely case of Asperger's and also arguably the main character of the group. Originally attended community college to take business classes to help his father in the falafel business, he now also takes film classes due to the intervention of Britta. A complete film and TV nut and the source of much of the show's referential and meta humour. Often hanging out with Troy, he also has a tendancy to have his own little side-adventures (Troy is rather hurt that he never seems to have any). A big fan of (and also cameo in) CougarTown.
Shirley Bennett (Yvette Nicole Brown)
A divorced mother and devout Christian, Shirley joined community college to take classes on marketing her baked goods. Quite intolerant of other faiths. Has barely hidden rage issues, and tends to use guilt as a weapon. Constantly hit on and harassed by Pierce. Recently had a baby after getting back together with her ex-husband. Very sweet and the mother figure of the group. For quite some time, assumed by Pierce to be Troy's actual mother.
Pierce Hawthorne (Chevy Chase)
A millionaire who made his riches on the empire of moist towlettes. The old man of the group, and very often extremely sexist and/or racist, albeit unknowingly. Became a much more villainous figure in the second year, due to feeling excluded by the group. Broke both of his legs in a double-bouncing trampoline incident, and became addicted to painkillers. Seems to be all better now, but that's subject to change. Currently a Level 5 Lotus Lizard in his obscure "neo-buddhist" cult.
Dean Pelton (Jim Rash)
The hopeless Dean of the college. Tries way too hard to be politically correct. Has become worryingly obsessed with Dalmatian furries. Wears increasingly outrageous outfits with increasingly thin excuses. Although he almost always has the best intentions in mind, his regular screwups certainly don't help the college's reputation. Head of D. Pelton Cartoon Productions. Has been accurately described as a "pansexual imp".
Ben Chang (Ken Jeong)
He's Ken Jeong.
The 3rd season's just started up, and with it come delicious guest starts including JOHN GOODMAN and MICHAEL K WILLIAMS!

Coran Attack!
The commentaries for the second season are also pretty good except Dan Harmon isn't in every one and Dino is an annoying douche.
I've heard the commentaries are fantastic, though.
e: MY POST WAS SO ABOVE YOURS
And who's Dino?
Coran Attack!
Because he was absolutly brilliant.
Not sure.
He's main cast now and deserves it. He's up there with Troy, Abed, Jeff, and Annie for funniest character.
He also has a top hat and a lizard.
Why I fear the ocean.
"a burn on the world's mouth" doesn't really describe the severity of the situation
Rub it all over meeee
Annie > Britta
Senor Chang is the best
Not a regular but both his character and Michael Williams (The bio professor) have recurring roles
24/7 man
but more on Alison Brie
yeah pretty much
wanna take a bite outta that
it is just so brilliant
