So, Batman: Arkham City
This is a game that is coming out in a mere two weeks, and since it's going to be totally boss and the best game ever made, we should talk about it here
PRE-ORDER BONUSES
This is where shit gets hairy, so you'll have to bear with this game's retarded pre-order bonus scheme. Here's a list of what you get depending on where you pre-order:
GameStop: Joker's Carnival Challenge Map, Batman: Gotham Knight (I can't find anywhere on the site but I'm guessing it's a DVD pack-in). If you're a PowerUp Rewards member (there's a free version of it), you also get a Batman: The Animated Series skin
Amazon: $10 Amazon credit, Arkham City comic
Best Buy: Robin playable in Challenge Maps, two exclusive Challenge Maps
Wal-Mart: $10 Wal-Mart card and free copy of Batman: Arkham Asylum
If you haven't played AA yet for some reason, a Wal-Mart pre-order is your best bet on getting caught up on the cheap.
TRAILERS
This game has like a goddamn ton of trailers, each centered around a major character

Strangely there's no Two-Face trailer, unless you want to count that twelve-minute gameplay video shown at E3
SPOILERS
There's been a pretty notorious spoiler floating around the past few days. Whether or not its a real spoiler is anyone's guess (it's probably not), but even so, there are probably people that didn't want that part of the experience ruined and so we should probably not mention it! Or any other major spoilers!
ANY MULTIPLAYER? CO-OP WITH CATWOMAN? HOW LONG IS THIS GAME?
No multiplayer, you do get to play as Catwoman (estimates from the developers say ten percent of the game is Catwoman), and the game's length has been estimated at roughly 40 hours. However, the game DOES have a New Game+ mode, allowing you to start your second runthrough with all of your acquired items from the previous game. Will this break the game? Will it allow for sequence breaking? Who knows? It seems that this game is more open-world in nature than Arkham Asylum was, so maybe sequence breaking will never become an issue.
I HAVE MONEY TO BURN, IS THERE SOME SORT OF COLLECTOR'S EDITION?
There is! It's $100 and includes a Batman collectible statue, an art book, early access to the Iceberg Lounge Challenge Map, a Dark Knight Returns skin, a Batman: Arkham City album (not a score, this has popular bands), Batman: Gotham Knight and four collectible cards
I HAVE A PC...
Bad news...the PC port has been delayed, though thankfully, it's not a long wait. Sometime in November. Rejoice! The PC master race will only have to wait a few short weeks before they talk about all their fancy effects that will no doubt be missing from the console versions.
Posts
I knew I shouldn't have put up the Hugo Strange trailer!
REALSPOILER JOKER GOT AWAY
...some guys, Kotuku? Kataku? Anyway, they want to offer you a job.
Who laid this egg
I fucking loved that aspect in Arkham Asylum, that it was just a particularly rough day to be Batman, and he had signs of wear and tear by the end of it
I hear he wants you to
chill out
He's constantly giving Batman the cold shoulder
PSN/Steam/NNID: SyphonBlue | BNet: SyphonBlue#1126
Rolo do you know what killed the dinosaurs?
That's why I felt the need to warn people that they wouldn't be getting the score
Cool.
The good news is that a few of them just say "early access," indicating that all skins and challenge maps will be available down the line for a price
Mine's all paid off at GameStop so I've got the Joker's Carnival and Batman: TAS skin, which was really the only one I wanted
Oh, and a Gotham Knight DVD. Neat, I guess. Never did see it.
I'm just gonna do what I did with Deus Ex and wait a month and get it for like 35 dollars.
3DS: 5241-1953-7031
I mean I'm going to buy this game, but for PC, and likely on Steam
I just wish I could actually get a "here's all the extra missing shit in one package" version
Amazon Wishlist: http://www.amazon.com/BusterK/wishlist/3JPEKJGX9G54I/ref=cm_wl_search_bin_1
it was good but I just stopped caring about halfway through
Batman is the best gift.
so pumped
it's a really good game, shoe
in fact I think I'm going to install it and play it again when I get home
15 days!
except that
I will take that
You will take what I give you.
I wish Scarecrow was back though, I loved him in the first game.
Mister Freeze makes up for that, though
Getting a free Arkham Asylum from Wal-Mart or getting a free Assassin's Creed 1 no matter where you buy it if you get the PS3 version
oh I'll take that, alright
I would be very surprised if Scarecrow doesn't return
With the kitchen sink approach they're taking with this in terms of villains, I thought for sure it'd be their final Batman game before moving on to new projects, but I guess one of the developers said yesterday in an interview that they'll keep the series going as long as there are good stories to tell
So, more Batman games in the future confirmed, I guess
You got a free copy of Fear 2 at GameStop when you pre-ordered Fear 3
I didn't even know about it; there were just a bunch of copies in the box with Fear 3
It's like, if you're pre-ordering the new one, chances are you played the old one
Not necessarily. If I were interested in F.E.A.R., I could pick up the original for a song (it's probably like $5 used on 360), pre-order the third and get the second one free. That's a pretty sweet deal. A whole trilogy for less than $70.
