I always liked the design of the Highliners from Dune
"We don't need engines, we don't need a bridge, we're going to hurl this utilitarian tube through the very folds of time and space using our psychic mutant's sheer willpower."
I always liked the concept for the Culture's ships. They're exactly what far future, very high tech space ships should be like. No pandering to streamlining or anything like that, just a massive, continent sized slab surrounded by force fields.
I loved this section in Halo 3. What's that? You're gonna land a space-faring military interstellar frigate within the atmosphere of an alien construct factory world that assembles giant rings of doom? Well shit son let's get this show on the road.
2 needed a patch because the difficulty scaling was broken and it basically punished you for doing well. The story was good and engaging though.
I'm with Wiet, I really disliked the storyline in Homeworld 2. The beginning was fine, but by the end I was like "Fuck it, I'm leaving during the cut-scenes and turning down the volume. I'm only here for the missions."
Me too. I just hope that if it ever gets made the story will be HW1 quality rather than HW2.
What was wrong with the story of 2?
I felt like the Progenitors were just dropped on you by the Bentusi with little to no explanation, turning ''Lets regroup and lift the siege of our homeworld'' to ''drop everything and do what the Bentusi say''. It wasn't a bad storyline, but compared to Homeworld 1 it felt pretty lackluster to me. I played the two right after eachother so that probably coloured my perception a lot.
Wha? The Bentusi simply gave you the information you were lacking. They gave the context for why you needed to get all the cores to stop Makaan (but Sajuuk ends up being the real threat even the Bentusi didn't know about).
Do they? The way I remember it they show up, tell you about the Progenitor Sajuuk making the cores, those cores becoming seperated and then them telling you that they must be reunited and that it's the only way to stop Makaan and the Vaygr and something about destiny. They don't tell you a thing about why you need the cores beyond a vague ''you need them to stop Makaan!'', do they?
Well they're talking about ancient prophecies so they just know that you need all the cores because the discovery of the third core will lead to the return of Sajuuk, but they only know that Sajuuk is supposed to be really powerful. They don't know what it is, or even what it will do. When the Bentusi ship gets attacked by the keepers, they tell you that you need to find the Balcora gate but again, they don't know specifics about what you'll find on the other side. It turns out it's Sajuuk and it wants all three cores and attacks you. I don't get how that's "without explanation" or "do whatever the Bentusi say". It's more like, here's an ancient race that's one of the only races that knows anything about the progenitors because they haven't been seen for ages but even what they remember is clouded in prophecy and legend. Sounds pretty reasonable to me, and it keeps the suspense of discovering what you'll face on the other side of the gate and what role the Vaygr play.
The one thing that'll always stand out for me from HW2 was the music. The Keeper battle theme with the Sanskrit chant is amazing. The only theme from HW1 that comes close was the Swarmer battle theme.

A Reliant is fine too.

Yes, thank you, it's a shame it didn't get more use
Playing it right now, there are some great designs I've really become attached to
The Sovereign class Enterprise E.
I also do like the new Enterprise from the 2009 Star Trek.

I always liked this just because it was so alien. Even if it might have been built by space whales.

They are literally making another x-wing game if the lucasarts recruitment thing is to be believed.

I would sell my first-born child for this. No questions asked.
Also, how has the greatest space station of all not been posted yet?

and so incredibly hard. I still haven't been able to beat one except for that one made by a different company.
