7 games in that really big bundle. That's... alot of games. I wonder if the starting price will be bumped up a bit because of that. I'll pay it either way, just curious.
I also hope they are a bit more prepared to handle the Day 1 server load this time.
edit: at best if you couldn't tell that those are game boxes, I would think you would count 8 rather than 7. But that is definitely 4 large game boxes on a platters, just like all the other bundles have been platters with 4 boxes.
Yeah it's 4 boxes they're just really wide so there's no obvious separation. It's at an angle so you're seeing the spine of the first, then part of the side of the first, then the spine of the second, then part of the side of the second, and so on. But it looks like 7 spines.
They drew the boxes a little larger than the others because it's the "large" bundle.
I'm guessing that the Large bundle will contain a bunch of large games? Like maybe really long games, or games with a lot of content? Hence the big fat boxes and the bulging tray? That's what I'm thinking. No idea what games are going to be in the bundle though.
I'm more interested in what the hell the Alpha bundle is. I'd guess it'd be games in Alpha, but surely they wouldn't be available on Steam or Desura?
No game in alpha I've ever played has been on Steam. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see Steam and Desura keys added when the games actually launch.
The other possibilities that it's games from indie debs that are currently working on new games of some note, thus "funding" those alphas.
Edit: with regards to the big bundle, I still say it's 7 games. Look closely - zoom in - on the image. There are 7 distinct colors with dark 'edge' lines dividing them up making 7 boxes. Im way zoomed in right now and it's very clear to me.

Oh, wow, that's a good point. Hopefully an introversion game will be in there, since I really want Defcon on Steam, but I'm too cheap to pay 9.99 for a game I already own on disc for what amounts to some achievements and my time logged.

That's just how they drew it. Each "wide" spine you're seeing is not another game, but rather, a partial side view of the spine of the same (but slightly darker) color. They put a dark edge line to distinguish the spine of each box as well.
1st off, Really Big has been revealed to mean the size of one of the games and scope/genre of the others.
Big news though is they are changing some things up. They aren't going to stick to a strict 2 week schedule. The idea is to be constant new ones incoming but no more countdown timers and exact dates, presumably to help offset the initial crazy rush. They've said the next one is coming after the Thanksgiving holiday.
Other news is you can preorder bundles now, albeit for a higher minimum price (3.99). Obviously another attempt to help with server issues, though I wonder if 3.99 is a good price for it, since the bundles rarely went higher than that. Should've met in the middle at 2.99, which is higher than the base price but not quite the near the normal price like 3.99 is. But still, convenient if you don't want to deal with the site crashing when you want to buy it.
2.99 is the new starting price. Im sort of dissapointed that they are no longer doing the two week countdown thing. I was actually really looking forward to the next deadline to see what came up.
Not sure if I want to preorder or not. I would be really bummed if none of the games were on steam.
Im really disappointed about this turn of events. The more 'regular' schedule for my Indie Fix is something I was really excited about. I counted the days until the Difficult Bundle went on sale, and was doing the same for the Really Big. I really don't intend to pre-order - not because of wanting to get it cheaper - but because if somehow the games aren't on Steam I probably wont be buying them - I dont have a lot of memory left on this old girl.
I'll still buy the bundles, just very disappointed.
I don't like the idea of blindly ordering, let alone pre-ordering, items. They should at the very least provide hints as to which games are in the bundles, (specific clues like Amazon's gold box, not the vague ones the bundle titles provide), but I'd prefer it if they unveiled the "most attention grabbing" game of the bundle ahead of time. I would be more likely to pre-order the bundle if I knew that Capsized (for example) were in it instead of not knowing what any of the games are.
Thats another very good point, Bullio. You could end up buying a bundle of games you already own (at least with this community you could gift them). Or a bunch of games that you just have no interest in. I mean, sure its cheap, and it not be a huge hit to MY wallet, but thats not true for everyone.
I suspect they get relatively few preorders, and that the load issues persist.
Whelp, just finished Gemini Rue so that's one down.
It's not often these days that I play a game that has a fully contained, realised, coherent and satisfactorily concluded story. I really enjoyed the ride with a couple of left-field story twists and a novel shooting mechanic.
There's only one fairly tricky puzzle in the whole game so if you're put off by bat-shit crazy leaps in point-and-click adventure logic, let this game be a breath of fresh air for you Everything is reasonably obvious, even if some solutions aren't overtly staring at you in the face.
Now I need to find something like it and Beneath A Steel Sky...

I played it at the weekend and it was a joy to play through even though I'm not usually into point and click adventure games, the story is brilliant and kept me wanting for more all the way up to the end

Updates from Twitter in case you don't follow them-
Next bundle is coming out sometime during the week following the US Thanksgiving holiday.
Similar amount of steam compatible games in this bundle as the last. (So..thats 100%, right?)
Amazon Payments and Google Checkout still not available, but working on it.
still 3.99 preorder to go along with the new starting price of 2.99.
I think the problem was with the launch being at a very specific time. Now you may know its launching tomorrow, but you wont be tempted to break your f5 key starting at 8:59.
Also they might have gotten a significant amount of preorders so that they are more confident in letting the date be known.
get ready to be rubbed worse. this just hit my facebook feed. Well I assume people will take the "I have to pay x to get the whole bundle" as negative.
GOOD NEWS: all Bundle pre-orders get Fez and Puzzle Agent composer Disasterpeace's acclaimed chiptune LP 'Rise Of The Obsidian Interstellar', and it's available to download right now!
Grab it (a $5 value) from your Indie Royale key redeem page now - 'Star' contributors who drop the price during the Bundle will also get this bonus.
Just music, but how long until they start doing the humble bundle strat of paying to unlock more games?
Meh, I think a soundtrack is fair game, especially since it's unlikely to be featured in the pack already since PA is a Telltale game and Fez is not out yet/not even being released on PC, so they weren't going to be in the bundle anyways..

They've more or less been doing this anyway with the Sanctum DLC from the first pack and the bonus games from the second. The only difference is that they unlock stuff after certain sales figures are reached instead of payment level.

someone on cag pointed out that it isn't even really a bonus, seeing as you can already pay-what-you-like it for a penny.
(FYI, that album is pretty awesome though - it's worth getting one way or another)
Er, I thought the indie royale bundle already did the 'beat the minimum to get x game' thing just like the humble bundle. I mean, being the minimum is rarely a problem but ya. I thought it already did.

I think the IndieRoyale normally only does 4. According to their FAQ anyway.

They did a press release saying it will not be every two weeks and this one will show up after the thanksgiving holiday.
I want to know more PA people on Twitter.

So... if they are telling us the launch date in advance anyway... how does making launches irregular help their server load issues?
That was their reason for all the changes, after all.
Look, I love and appreciate the cheap indie games, but I really don't understand these guys.
