Really Big Sky
available on: windows, desura, steam
Only way to get Really Big Sky on Steam!
Runespell: Overture
available on: windows, mac, desura, steam
Cthulhu Saves the World available on: windows, desura, steam
Eufloria
available on: windows, desura, steam
BONUS: Breath of Death VII available on: windows, desura, steam
Server issues don't seem to be a problem. I think the preorder thing helped alleviate it, and then also I guess this sort of stealth release helped reduce the initial impact. I guess (hopefully) some newsblogs/game sites/deal sites will put up some short articles to let people know this is out now.
got it!
Too bad I already have the Cthulhu + Breath pack. Maybe I can gift it later to someone, not sure if that is allowed.
I was curious about Runespell for some time now so it's time to check it out.

Sorry if this sounds dickish, but how is this bundle really big?
Don't get me wrong, Cthulhu Saves the World and Breath of Death are games that everyone should own, but the other games aren't really that big or long lasting?

They never said it was gonna be a big bundle or with big games.
The name is just a pun or a hint... it has a game named Really Big Sky so they decided to call it Really Big Bundle!

Oh, I see, sorry for being thick, I shoulda made that connection.
I've owned Breath of Death VII and Cthulu Saves the World since the day they came out on Steam, but Runespell: Overture and Really Big Sky look promising enough to warrant a purchase. I don't have the slightest idea of what Eufloria's deal is yet.

Anyone else getting performance issues on Really Big Sky or problems detecting a wired 360 controller? Strange stuff. This sort of thing usually isn't a problem.

Congrats on getting the bundle out there with your game, and hope it sells well!
A little bird told me that you guys had bonuses in the works to be added to the bundle later. Any word on that? ;-)

This issue seems to be tied to my Saitek Joystick in some way. When it's plugged in, everything is fine performance-wise, but the game thinks my Saitek is a 360 pad, and it has my 360 pad installed as player 2. If I unplug my Saitek then the game performs like shit, I guess until the joystick query is done, The Polynomial has the same issue.
Weird. None of my other games that use a 360 pad are affected like this. Occasionally a game will try to use the Saitek over the 360 but then I just unplug the Saitek and everything is fine. I guess this is all due to the fact that I picked up the Saitek first so it was plugged in first before I ever picked up the 360 pad, and windows remembers this stuff in the registry with no obvious or easy way to change it. Annoying.
It would appear as though I'm kind of terrible at Really Big Sky. Or at least frequently confused by it. Sometimes I'll be flying around, minding my own business, and then a massive laser beam will materialize out of nowhere, seemingly without warning, killing me instantly. Or I'll be abruptly frozen in a block of ice, unable to move while a massive ship rams me to death. I don't usually know why I died, when it happens.
Not to mention my confusion at all the times when my pilot takes a bunch of acid, the laws of physics cease to apply, I become the laser-god, a giant black hole appears and helps me shoot stuff, or I get sent to the dinosaur dimension. These events are all pretty benign by comparison, though.

Really Big Sky is Really Fucking Good.
So glad I managed to work out all of my issues with that game. It's joy.
ZeBoyd, this might be getting too much into your personal business, but I am curious as to how this pans out for you.
The Indie Royale isn't a charity thing like the Humble, so I am curious as to how this translate into profit for you. I mean, your combo pack launched at dirt-cheap prices, so I am just wondering how the heck you make money. Was the port to PC a pretty cheap process? Do the Desura guys demand a large chunk of the bundle money?
I understand if you guys don't feel like getting to much into the financial underpinnings, but I am curious as to how these dirt-cheap bundles help the developers. With the Humble Bundle, I can understand it as a charity thing, so everyone goes in expecting a loss or maybe break even. But I am a bit surprised that it's being done as a purely for-profit deal.
I imagine it's a "Making 10 cents off someone that never would've bought it otherwise" scenario. A lot of the titles are pretty niche. Chances are, if you haven't bought a modern SNES RPG featuring Cthulhu by now when it was only 3 bucks (and even a dollar for a while), you're not going to spend money on it at all. I think the only title that might've not fit this profile is Sanctum, but I imagine selling the mountain of DLC that game has was a factor for them.
I think quantity makes up for the potential loss due to severely reduced pricing. I think it is the same as steam sales, in which Valve have revealed that companies earn way more at reduced pricing than they would have at a higher price. Besides Humble bundle and Indieroyale are basicly a great marketing tool, it has become a brand. Since the indie developer don't have big marketing budgets this will help them greatly in marketing their games through word of mouth and hopefully make more fans and potential customers for future games.
It is a risky business model I have to say. They are relying on the decency of computer gamers to pay more than 1 cent for a big amount of content. Luckily the "customers" are more decent than I would have thought. What would interest me is the amount of people that paid less than 10 cents. What percentage do they represent?

The port took a few months (since we were adding new stuff) but we've already made way more money on the PC than we ever did on XBLIG. We've sold over 100k copies on Steam and most of those were pretty close to the full price of $3.
I can't get into the specifics about percentages and all that but Indie Royale has sold nearly 30k bundles in just a couple days so far so what we lose in price per unit, we're more than making up in quantity.
Oh and the Indie Royale bonuses are up. Includes hyperlink doc files of my two Choose Your Own Adventure novels - Molly the Were-Zompire and Epiphany in Spaaace!
You can now blind pre-order Indie Royale's Xmas Bundle at a recommended $5+ USD contribution, and a minimum of $3.99 USD.
The titles to be offered will include an exclusive, specially remastered adventure game compilation debut (Steam for PC, Desura for PC, DRM-free PC download), an unlikely-themed multiplayer FPS (Steam for PC), a cult puzzle action game (Steam for PC and Mac, Desura for PC, DRM-free PC download), and an overlooked sim-action title (Desura for PC, DRM-free PC download).
Those who optionally pre-order now will get game access as soon as the bundle launches, lock in their price, and receive as a bonus Rush Coil's festive chiptune album '8-Bit Christmas', as featured on Adult Swim (this bonus is also available to those who pay enough to drop the price during the bundle.)
The Xmas Bundle will launch fully early next week at $2.99 USD and up - watch our Twitter feed or Facebook page for immediate notice at launch time.

So what's the deal with this, I can't buy the bundle anymore? Just now got around to looking at this. I'd like a crack at this bundle but it seems like you can't buy it anymore. Did I miss the 5 day period?

Yeah unfortunately, you may be able to track someone down who bought extras for gifting and hasn't given them out but I don't know how you'd go about it.
I couldn't find a dedicated thread for it, so I'm posting it here. New bundle, it's pay-what-you-want, all games are only on Steam, but they give you one code for each game. Indie Gala
Games are:
Zombie Shooter 2
inMomentum
Hacker Evolution: Duality
Saira
Your Doodles Are Bugged
and extras for beating the average (currently at $1.57)
Zombie Shooter 1
Hacker Evolution: Duality
inMomentum OST
Your Doodles Are Bugged! Bonus doodles
Zombie Shooter Main Theme
Also if you preorder the Indie Royale you can download the xmas chiptune thing right now.
The Blackwell Trilogy remastered is kind of neat. It even includes a commentary track. Those things are awesome! I really like how Indie Royale is big on adventure games. Dino D-Day is a joke though.
Eets is the only thing I'd want in this bundle so I'm gonna pass, this will be the first of any indie bundles I'm not buying. I think bundle fatigue has set in
Posted this in the Steam thread, but this seems to be the most appropriate place:
Does anyone here have any opinions about The Oil Blue? Looks just like my kind of game.
Man that bundle really wasn't worth it. Dino D-day? Really? I guess Eets is some consolation and the christmas album thing is nice.
Eh, I figure it's worth it just for the Blackwell games. Enhanced versions of 3 well reviewed adventure games for $3-$5? Oh and you get 3 other games that may or may not be good tossed in? Great!
Blackwell games do it for me. But then I don't pay a huge amount on these things. 5 bucks works for me, for a game I wouldn't normally buy. I don't need every game in these bundles to be gold. Just one justifies my 5 dolla.
This just made preordering it worth it. I posted it to everyone in IRC, sachiel was just the fastest.

Also, that's made by the sainted Tom Francis of PC Gamer UK, one of the best games journalists I know of. Wonder how he'll be creating games.
EDIT: It should also be said that the new HIB now includes Dungeons of Dredmor, which you should all own.
