New to Tacoma

My husband and I have just moved to Tacoma, WA from Missouri. We would like to make some friends that share our interests (anime, video games, etc.) However, we are not the kind of people to just strike up a conversation with someone at the bus stop. Do you have any advice for two socially awkward geeks in a new city?
