So i just had my first run in with Flixster Collections when my fiance brought home her copy of the new Harry Potter movie. Has anyone used this and now hot to get it working on her Mac running OS X? Maybe even her Ipad? I'm having no luck and any searches on google are completely futile. I'm also wondering where this program saved my digital copy so I might convert it or move it to her ipad manually.
Exactly what steps have you gone through so far? It sounds like you've already created your Flixster ultraviolet account, redeemed the movie, and pressed the download button on the movie page that downloads the Flixster Collections air-client. Have you actually run the Flixster Collections client yet? Were you able to sign in? Where exactly does it go wrong?
I've found it to be slightly easier to watch on an iPad than on a desktop. Here's the general process in case you haven't gotten that far yet:
- Redeem the movie online at http://ultraviolet.flixster.com/ultraviolet/
- This process will ask you to create a Flixster account if you don't already have one. Pretty easy though as you can do so by connecting your Facebook account.
- The process will also create an Ultraviolet account (uvvu.com) for you behind the scenes. This account is your platform-agnostic "movie locker" in the cloud. They'll send you a confirmation email with a link to click to confirm.
- Finally you'll enter your redemption code
- You'll immediately be able to start streaming the movie on ultraviolet.flixster.com
- For iPad: download the Flixster movies app from the iTunes store (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/movies-by-flixster-rotten/id284235722) onto your iPad
- Run the app, sign in under the "My Movies" tab using the same credentials you used to create your account at ultraviolet.flixster.com
- After you sign in, a "My Movie Collection" will show up listing all the movies you've redeemed. Open any of these movie pages and click "Watch Now" to stream it.
- If you instead want to watch a movie offline, you'll need to "download" them onto your iPad. Just click the "Download" button next to the "Watch Now" button and wait for it to finish downloading.
- For Mac:I'll wait until you answer how far you've gotten.
Let me know if any of these steps doesn't make sense.
