Like I said in the D&D lego thread I really do hope they do positive things with it
I do like the blank colour me things they make are fun but kind of hard to find
It's certainly bright enough that the innate dimness of 3d is pretty much cancelled out, and while there's not a lot of whoosh-out-of-the-screen in there, there is a lot of depth in some scenes, so it's one of the better 3d movies I've seen that way. It's also worth seeing on a giant screen if you can manage it, because there are many many details in the background to look at.
If you want to be technical, Lego isn't a noun; it's a branding adjective.
There are no such thing as "legos" or "lego." They're bricks. So if you want to call refer to them as Lego, you have to call them "Lego Brand Construction Bricks."
Which is why I stopped caring. Call them Lego or Legos, who cares?
Whoaaa that link made me think it was the other way around
I mentioned this to someone I work with and that is what they said as well
But then I pointed out some of the things Mega Brands made that were Mattel's so it was not a surprise after all
Is the Fire Truck Mech and Castle from the movie exclusive to someone?
I just dumped all my childhood legos out and got out the figures that look as close to the Movie characters as I could find...also a parrot and a shark, because.
One question we had: was this computer animated or stop-motion? I know SOME of it had to be CG, but a lot of the scenes looked like real figures they moved around.

"stop-motion CGI"
Computer generated models manipulated as though they were actual figurines.
With some exceptions.

They used microscopes to make sure the texture on the CGI was just right.

I tried watching some Lego youtube reviewers and man, did that not turn out good.
The first was "The Brick Show" with a guy trying WAAAAAY too hard to sound like he's cool. It's like, you play with Legos dude, it's okay to sound like a dork. Embrace it.
Then it was "The Brick Queen" which might have been cool, but I made the mistake of watching a Star Wars review and the reviewer was in a Slave Leia outfit, no joke, and I just felt bad about watch the video so it had to shut it off.
Artifexcreation is pretty cool, but his "reviews" are just stop motion assembly of lego sets, with nothing spoken (which has it's own benefits I guess) so while they look pretty great and probably took ages to make, it basically takes away all the surprise for the assembly.
EDIT: The dude with the Benny video seems alright though: He sounds good and enthusiastic without trying too hard, he doesn't seem to pander, and he gets to the point without spoiling the build.

With just my brother and friend
even though I knew before hand what happens in the movie it was neat to see all the little background stuff and lego inside jokes

I had some old Legos that belonged to my uncle at one point. I recovered them recently and stacked the 2x4 bricks into sticks for easy storage.
Some of the blue ones actually shattered when I tried to take them apart.

Thanks, I was just about to start looking for this.
Edit: was thinking of doing an Omega Prime type deal with the defender sets...
Need to look at the others for inspiration.
Edit2: Darnie-darn-darn.... Fire truck's $80 (but comes with a large Micro Manager and a shack/helicopter).
Is the Copper chopper going to be an actual set?
In his office when he is interrorgating emmet there is a figure of Qui-Gon Jinn saying something on a plaque
That one sounds especially great.

Breaking news, I know.
bought a bunch of Lego Movie mini figs to put on my already existing lego sets.
Including a space ship I made from assorted pieces and have kept around for no reason other than it's a mess and cool because it's a mess.
Benny would be proud.
It's a solid molded piece, but it is molded to look broken.

They just did a really, really good job of replicating how the figures move.
They did a really good job with the cg, getting all the right details like scratches and fingerprints

This is a cool video about Benny and his earlier brothers.
