The Uncensored version will also be getting all the new CGs that were in the Vita release the Censored version is based upon, and both versions are getting an updated/improved translation, so it's a clear improvement over the already available fan-translated PC version I've read.
The Labyrinth of Grisaia, the second novel, will be releasing later this year and The Eden of Grisaia will release early next year. I spent $320 on this localization of four games (physical for keeping on my shelf all nice and pretty and digital uncensored), tapestry, and posters. Insane yes, but I loved the first novel that much.
And Sekai Projects are jerks and nowhere near as awesome as MangaGamer because a) they're selling Uncensored and Censored as separate products with only a 50% discount on the BackerKit if you buy both and b) unlike MangaGamer they don't give you a free Steam Key when you buy a better version.
Oh, and this was literally only one of two novels I was/would be willing to drop silly money on for swag and localization.
God forbid if they officially localize Fate/stay night.

They better at least be equal in price.
Higurashi: When They Cry chapter 1 is unlocking in Steam in a few hours. I'm eyeballing that one, even though you're only paying for one chapter.

Has anything been said about any of the other Corpse Party games releasing in the US anytime soon?

I never fear death or dyin', I only fear never trying.
7th Expansion is actually the group that makes the games.
For the "main" part of Higurashi their are two parts: Higurashi and it's sequel, Higurashi Kai. Each game consists of 4 chapters/story arcs, for a total of 8. There's also numerous side stories found in various remakes, ports, and adaptations, but the core game is pretty much thos 8 story arcs. The new steam release is selling them off a chapter at a time , with the first one coming up with new graphics and such.
I mean, the manga adaption was so damn good (and horrific).

Oh, well I feel kind of silly now. I wonder what I have then. I'll have to search the website to see if they have info on it.

I dunno about the games, but the original is getting a live action adaptation in August
Hmmmm. Well. The manga adaptation IS actually pretty close to the VN's. The VN's do a great job with atmosphere though, with the way it's written and the use of music. So... it's hard to say! I'd say you should at least give the first game a shot, and that will probably give you a good idea about how it handles things and if you want to continue with the others or not. Personally, I found the game to be a pretty good experience.
When They Cray is such a hilariously appropriate title that I'm not sure if it's a typo or not.

See the second comment by CERN from the top down. Wow.
Higurashi on Steam has gotten a fan patch to include the PS3's version voices, sprites, and backgrounds.
// Switch: SW-5306-0651-6424 //
Which is really silly! The Windows version is already out!
Oh shit that was fast. I was holding out on getting the Steam version until they added the voices.
Is there a gallery comparison between the different sprites and backgrounds? I've heard mixed opinions on the PS3 sprites being better than the redrawn Steam ones, the backgrounds, etc.
Isn't the music also different between versions?
Blog||Tumblr|Steam|Twitter|FFXIV|Twitch|YouTube|Podcast|PSN|XBL|DarkZero
The original PC version localization had the music changed. I think Steam's is the original. Not sure about Higurashi PS3, but I know Umineko's is the same(why mess with perfection?).
I still badly want a copy of Umineko PS3 just to support the team. Ryukishi07 is a great guy.
Oh, c'mon now. "incomplete" and "port" is pretty unfair since the original game WAS the PC version.... In fact, the Steam version ADDS stuff that wasn't in the original Japanese release (the new sprite art) and even added stuff that wasn't in the original US release (Some pieces of the music which they couldn't get the rights to before.)
Don't get me wrong, the PS3 sprites are pretty cool, and when I bought the original US release, I used a patch to add those in myself, but the new sprites are pretty nifty too.
For the backgrounds, eh, I never really cared one way or the other. (the orignal game uses photo's with image filters on them, which I actually never patched out 'cause I think the "real life" place/photo's are kinda nifty.)
EDIT- Also, the voices weren't in the original PC game either. That's just a ps3 version thing. Because of the different way the two game are set up, I kinda have my doubts a voice patch would really match up all that well. Just my opinion though.
Also not a fan of voices when they weren't needed. I'll use them if I can(like I am with F/SN now), but I didn't miss them in Umineko one bit. If the writing is strong enough(see Tokyo Twilight), you can get by just fine without voices.
Sometimes I'm glad there's no voice, since I read faster than they can talk.

The $1 tier isn't anything to write home about but the $4 tier, at the very least, is a fucking steal.
$1 for:
Go! Go! Nippon! ~My First Trip to Japan~ - A visual novel tour guide look into Japanese culture.
Nicole - An Original English Language Indy, stat based, Otome Mystery-slash-Dating Sim.
$4 for:
Aselia The Eternal - A long and engaging, multi-path, JRPG + Visual Novel hybrid.
DEUS MACHINA DEMONBANE - Holy shit you want this. First off, it's by Nitro+. You might know them for Gen Urobuther, Saya no Uta, and many other adult and dark novels. Second off, it's super mecha mixed liberally and lovingly with the creations of HP Lovecraft. There is nothing here that is not awesome. $4 for this should be grand theft.
$10 for:
Edelweiss - A romantic comedy eroge/dating sim. Apparently decently amusing, but I haven't played it so I can't personally judge.
Obscene Medical Records of a Married Nurse - Fap material, nothing more.
// Switch: SW-5306-0651-6424 //
See, now you've gone and built this up way too much.
I only trust Urobuchi to pull off a story like that, so if he's not the one writing this what's the point?
Blog||Tumblr|Steam|Twitter|FFXIV|Twitch|YouTube|Podcast|PSN|XBL|DarkZero
That's because you overvalue Urobuchi. He's not the only awesome writer at Nitro+.

Apart from HH looking very clean, it seems pretty faithful.
How many Japanese authors combine Lovecraft with a previously common anime trope (magical girls, love triangles, Fate/Stay Night)? Not saying he's the sole authority on that, but I would have loved for him to be the dude to say "okay, now it's Lovecraft+Mecha".
Well, the actress playing Naomi is lacking a certain "characteristic"...
On the other hand, now they actually look age appropriate, so that's a plus.

Great sign for the spinoffs, maybe?
Especially surprising because from Sony's own mouth, at least 48% (circa 2014, potentially a higher % now) of all Vita games are bought digitally and wouldn't show up on that list.

Umineko Steam Edition also announced.
Clannad hitting Steam November.
Corpse Party Blood Drive hitting October.
.....still no localization of Fate/Stay Night.
Still, that is some good stuff on the way.

Also, JAST keeps localizing the Nitro+ backlog.
And Aksys, though they're the only company really doing it right now, is leading the charge localizing Otome games.

Not really. Manga Gamer already had plans to do it once their release schedule cleared a bit, but JAST snatched it up first.
// Switch: SW-5306-0651-6424 //
At least that left Mangagamer enough time to announce Hanabira/A Kiss for the Petals. Which is toootally worth translating.
