Just saw a really educational TvP from Jinro on antiga. Played a really safe 1rax fe and held off early pressure really easily. Went out to apply counter-pressure and found the opponent had colossus. So what he does is do a two pronged drop with 4 medivacs full of units total. The protoss, his army being in the middle just goes straight for Jinro only to find a shitload of bunkers and 5 vikings by the time he gets there.

What I took away from it is I need to be more prepared for counterattacks when I'm dropping. Also Jinro did this really smart thing where he just sneak-flew his third to another base when he saw the colossus ball coming, knowing he can't defend it. And he just dropped a shitload of MULES there.

    ZvZ.

Any local Z's have thoughts about how to handle it?

I've really been struggling in Z mirror lately. Feel like I'm flailing in the dark. I used to win with mostly ling/bane play, these days I'm facing mass roach most of the time.

I'm feeling like I just don't understand at all how to play against that, simple as it is. I mean on the one hand, I do also feel that I'm tending to overdrone just before getting hit with big roach attacks, but on the other hand, if I'm consistently doing that, I start to think there's something I'm fundamentally misreading or misunderstanding about how to play the matchup.

Here is a very general progression in a usual ZvZ.

    1) 14 gas 14 pool 15 OL 15 queen 17 ling speed.
    2) Build pure lings, mix in baneling tech.
    3) Pressure. Kill with ling/bane if they look/become weak. Get roaches whenever enemy starts to get roaches.
    4) Expand when safe. Drone but try to match strength of scouted enemy army. Scout a lot.
    5) Lair when safe. Start mixing in some combo of hydras/infestors or mutas.
    6) If mutas, use to deny expos while securing your own new expos.
    7) Accumulate expansions/upgrades/tech when safe, make lots of stuff and attack 'til the other guy dies.

Players should have entry music. Every other LAN should steal this idea which would be awesome if people were there

I suppose, provided that entrance music is not Munah Munah by the Muppets...I mean, I love that tune...but you might as well use Yackity Sax as your entry.

I would be an instant and forever fan of a player who used yakity sax as his entrance.

You know, I hate to say it, because I am all about benefit of the doubt...but the production value on this is just bad. The sound is bad and echoy, the graphics are terrible, the empty arena with grandiose boxer entrances is awkward. 18 months ago this might have flown, but this is so far behind the top level of StarCraft 2 content right now...I feel bad for them honestly, I mean, no one sets out to be mediocre at best...but that's kind of what they are providing.

From what I gather, the NASL was and is still produced largely by people who have either no experience in their job, or vaguely relevant movie industry production experience. Does not seem to really translate well.

Yeah, it's pretty striking to see how other leagues have risen the bar so much since the first season of NASL. Just the idea of 1 stream seems out of date now.

Whoever this loud drunken guy in the audience is needs to shut the fuck up

  • LilnoobsLilnoobs Alpha Queue Registered User regular
Without him, NASL wouldn't have an audience.

He's the annoying friend that invited himself, but at least he came to the party >.>

To be fair, if I was there live, I'd be completely drunk as well. Helps with the atmosphere, especially when there isn't one.

What the goose is up with the gamma being 20% too high for everything EXCEPT live shots, which are 20% too LOW.

    This is hurting my brain.

Games: Ad Astra Per Phalla | Choose Your Own Phalla
Thus, the others all die before tuxkamen dies to the vote. Hence, tuxkamen survives, village victory.
