Metal Gear Solid is over, "Tactical Espionage Action" is over, Snake is over

Raiden is not snake, this is not Metal Gear Solid, this is Metal Gear Rising, and the original subtitle was "Lightning Bolt Action"

They're going in a new direction! And they have made the smartest possible decision to get Platinum Games involved in it

Look my point is just that a game in a series can have entirely different gameplay than the other games and still be good and still exist within that series

Like they're making a Persona fighting game and no one is all up in arms about that

Or a Final Fantasy game that's a strategy game

Final Fantasy is still making the RPGS alongside any Tactics games

Persona 5 is being made

This has been the first Metal Gear thing since MGS4 and has been itself delayed for a while

so the franchise hasn't been on shelves for almost 4 years at this point(with new material) and the first game you're gonna get is a crazy weird action game starring Raidan that looks nothing like a Metal Gear game

if they were developing a proper Metal Gear game as well it would be less weird/bad

but they aren't
