Not really a fan of TDA being in the map pool, as it turns PvP back into a joke.
it was randomly generated from the combined GSL + ladder map pool. Its an okay map for the other matchups, and we got pretty lucky with the map pool including Daybreak. I could have fucked around with it and done it manually myself, but everyone would have had their own opinions and in the end all it would have caused is disagreements - so easier just to let the random stuff work it out. I think the map pool is okay, and TDA is the 3rd map anyway, so you'll just have to beat your opponent before it gets to it!
Fair 'nuff.
I'll have to play some games on Daybreak. I never play the GSL maps since they're not on the ladder.
My zombie survival life simulator They Don't Sleep is out now on Steam if you want to check it out.
Regarding the Sage PvP Nexus first from the last thread, it was on Shakura's Plateau. Don't know the numbers, but it was Nexus, then gateway, forge, cybercore.
Everything was built at the natural (no gas even at the main, if I remember correctly), and he was chronoing out stalkers and keeping them posted in the main to deny a warp prism. I also know he scouted in with his probe at some time and saw a robo, but that was after he had committed to the early Nexus.
Dhalphirdon't you open that trapdooryou're a fool if you dareRegistered Userregular
i seriously don't understand how people played on steppes of war
hell, how did we ?
i was fucking actively laddering during that period and i dont know how we even could bear to play on jungle basin, steppes of war, blistering sands, or scrap station, but fuck if that wasn't 80% of the map pool once upon a time!

im just looking up old map pools, and at one time during the beta, the map pool consisted of
incineration zone
kulas ravine
desert oasis
scrap station
blistering sands
steppes of war
The way I played on steppes of war was getting mad at people who bunker rushed me because of that distance. Or getting mad at people who 4gated me because there was a highground they could warp down from, which if I wanted to attack the pylon I had to walk a distance which would allow a fresh warpin to be ready even if they had just used one of the lowground.

My theory is that Blizzard are secretly mad geniuses, training us from the earliest cheesy builds at game release through to decent yet cramped 200/200 battles such as what we have now, through to the gigantor maps of infinite complexity that they have yet to release.
Wow this tournament is actually shaping up...this is easily the largest pool of competitors we've ever seen in a PA tournament. @s_86 where are the BW homies? Where's the old guard at? Will Drag and Lemming come to defend their titles?
I would be all over this tournament but I'm heading home for the holidays today and I don't want to play SC2 on a laptop. It's a shame too, it has been so long since I knocked Dhal out of a PA tournament.
I am more than willing to sign up, play my "randomly matched first round opponent Dhalphir" a week early and be knocked out of the tournament before the 28th.

hahahahaha
that is so fucking stupid
also the game was pretty different at that time
but eh
everyone knew the maps were shit, it was more just a thing of "oh well this game is still neat and hopefully the map pool changes"
and it did
slowly
edit: beat, stim with the forum micro
You know if I was really high I'm sure I would think a combination of SC2 and Quake would make a fantastic game.
That Shokz guide seems funny, the first image from protoss is "How to Void Ray rush". But I have to admit it is quite ambitious in presentation.
well
both launched with retardedly strong machine gun users

I think I'd take Crevasse. Not necessarily because it's the fairest; I just like the style and find the layout interesting.
Does this include people who simply don't respond to the thread?
daybreak
crevasse sucks.

you can, or you can use the relocalizer. biosys should be able to help you with that.
That one.
Yeah, I am pretty sure you can find child porn on motherless. It's not a good site to link to.
