I've tried the online DIY guide. Switch off/on and holding eject, cleaning the vents. Nada. I'm really not looking forward to a four week wait with Sony just exchanging the PS3. Can I take this thing to Gamestop or someplace and have them pull the disk, or am I going to have to disassemble the sucker myself? No manual release from what I can tell.

And yeah, the warenty is OG, as in a 2006 model. Thankfully PS3s are relatively cheap these days.

If you are getting rid of the 60GB, you could list it on craigslist as a nonfunctional PS3. Techs and nerds love getting their hands on a BC model that they can repair. Just bring the system to their house and they can remove the disc for you. They'll do the work, and you'll walk out with your game plus whatever cash you guys agreed upon for the sale price of the dead PS3.

That's money you could spend on a Slim, like the $300 bundle that comes with a 320GB system, Uncharted 3, and a free month of PSN Plus.
