The hall of fame announcement show is on, and Dan Fouts is probably the worst person they could have picked to be part of it. Every single time the host asks him his opinion on whether or not X should be in the Hall, his argument is always "well he made it to/won n Super Bowl(s) so I think yes he should."
For example:
"I think Andre Reed gets overlooked too much, he went to 4 straight Super Bowls."
First of all, both receivers also eligible with him have better numbers. And second, I highly doubt Reed took the Bills to the Super Bowl by himself.

Patriots release Tiquan Underwood and sign rookie DE Anthony Silvestro the night before the Super Bowl. I know its part of the business of the NFL, but that seems like a real dick move.

Isn't Underwood still ring-eligible if they win, though?

He'd still get a ring, but I'm sure he'd also love to actually play in the Super Bowl

I'm hearing this might mean more 4 man fronts for the Pats on D since Silvestro is considered a traditional 4-3 DE (and also that one of the Pats D-Linemen they were expecting to play won't be able to). Otherwise, why activate him?
Okay actually there's no such thing as ring-eligible. The winning team can give a ring to whoever the fuck they want, and the NFL pays for the first 150. Everything after that the team has to pay for.

Oh man, the entire history between Tiquan and the Patriots makes me mad
On August 29, 2011, Underwood signed with the New England Patriots. On September 3, five days after signing with Patriots, Underwood was cut. On November 8, 2011, Underwood was signed to the 53 man roster to boost a beleaguered kick return squad. He was released on November 12 and re-signed on November 23, 2011. On February 4, 2012, the night before Super Bowl XLVI, Underwood was released.
In the span of 7 months, the Patriots fired him 3 times.
Considering Steve Smith had such a great year, I'm a little surprised he didn't get more votes. 3rd best season of his career in total yards, 2nd best in yds per reception.
I'm not surprised he didn't win (it's not like he's had some great injury or anything to come back from, other than his dislocated QB), but I'm a little surprised he only got 3 votes.
Of course Alex Smith only getting 7 votes is an even bigger insult, in my mind. That's some political horse shit.
Chelsea and I are the only Giants fans attending the Super Bowl part we're going to. The rest are Eagles fans who are hoping that a fissure opens up in the Earth and swallows both teams.
Bad form to force everyone into all the Giants gear I'll be bringing?
is there a reason to the total disrespect of cris carter's career by the HOF?
did he burn down an orphanage in his rookie year or something?
Its stupid politics.
"If so and so (at the same position) didn't get in until this ballot year, neither should he."
Not surprised Parcells didn't make it, but surprised that people were against him making it because of the person and not because of something in his career.

Rodgers wins the NFL MVP. Odd that he wasn't also the Offensive POTY, or Brees the MVP.
I mean, I know Brees had the record breaking yards.
I was cheering for them mostly because I didn't want roethlisberger to win.

24 hours from now we'll have a Super Bowl champion.
I'm getting more and more anxious as the time draws closer.

Alright, I have been saying it out loud for a while now, and although I've refrained from posting it here this year in the playoffs, I got nothing to lose.
Giants are going to win tomorrow.

He is like Tim McCarver but for football.

No Cris Carter again surprises me.

I think it was pretty widely speculated this was going to be split, since Brees got the record but Rodgers had a better season, wins-wise.
