I was able to pick up CK2 during an Amazon sale last week, but alas, none of the DLCs were on sale. Luckily, Steam is having a Paradox Sale this weekend and they're cheaper. Are there any ya'll would specifically recommend getting or avoiding? I haven't really read into many of them aside from the Ruler Designer, so I'm not sure what all they add.
Edit: Music, faces, and shields... oh my... Looks like I might just be picking up the RD to play with later. Hah.
I'm not even sure I'm going to show up. Failed to sleep last night, so I'm dead tired.

I also picked this up during the Amazon sale. I've been playing in Ireland currently. Still trying to get my bearings and plotting skills down. The guide by on SA is really, really good.
I could be interested in playing online, but am worried I would get crushed.
For what it's worth, we have not been fighting each other.

Yeah, I'm not going to be able to make it tonight. Brain not really functional.

Is there a place between the yay peace forever that is Ireland and the constant war that is Spain?

Scandinavia is pretty good for this. Lots of pagan targets along the Baltic, some Catholic opponents, but the pagans aren't terribly aggressive.

So I used to be a person who looked confusingly at grand strategy players, while listening to their grandiose stories, and wondered "How are you getting all that from a picture of a map". Hah. But this game... So many neat storylines take place in every playthough I've had. We all have them, so I won't bother spouting off one in particular. I just wanted to say it's nice to get into one of these and finally see at least a glimpse into what they are all about.

My heir has a foreign liege. What does this means? I am not even sure how it happened.

Upon further review, won't so much be around. I'm coming down with something and I spent the early evening fighting a 6 year independence war that will not end. Gonna go to bed early.

I just learned about this game, and I'm curious how accessible it is. Last Paradox Interactive game I played (Victoria II maybe?) involved me starting the game, then five minutes later my economy was in shambles because the price of wheat went down, unemployment went up, and I was dead in the water. I tried 3 or 4 more times but every game went similar. On the continuum of complicatedness, is this game closer to 'Lord of the Realms' or 'excel spreadsheets with graphics'?
I've never played the 1st Crusader Kings, but I'm a fan of Civ5, SotS, other 4x games, Total War, etc.. I'm curious what the chances are I'd enjoy this.
Vicky is the most complicated, easily. This has a very different dynamic. Playablewise it's probably a 5.5 on the Mario to MoO3 scale. Fully understanding it is maybe a 7.5

Figured some here might be interested in a A Game of Thrones MOD for Crusader Kings 2. Seems pretty high quality! Just downloaded it myself and going to give it a go.

We're back in business tomorrow, thought I'd remind everyone.

Yeah, it might be exciting. If it's unstable, we can get really spread out or all go Muslim (I'm assuming we're all spending the ten bucks?) or whatever.

Not sure I'm going to be able to commit to the two nights a week schedule any longer, but I should be around for a play session tonight at least. Hope I can remember wtf I was doing when last we played.
