Also...I guess it's because I have "dudebro" friends but I kind of find it pretty ironic how judgmental some people can be. Especially people who the general populace probably thinks have weird/childish hobbies anyway. Who are you do say a dudebro cannot enjoy Mass Effectin'.
Why I roll my eyes at how people overreact at Vega.
If anything I think we should spread the love of Mass Effect far and wide.
I will not rest until everyone reads my Shepard/Tali fanfics!
I'm not really sure where this whole dudebros thing came from, anyway
like I'm pretty sure most of the CoD fanbase is still your "traditional" pasty nerd
Yeah. I frequent the CoD thread. We've got a guy in there who bakes pastries for parties and stuff. He just happens to like shooting mans in his spare time.
If I used the Gibbed save editor to modify an ME2 save to make it my proper canon Shepard, then am actually using that save right now, will that save transfer properly to ME3? Because I saw a mention of the Gibbed editor just messing with debug values and how that probably wouldn't carry over to ME3 from and ME1 save.
We don't know for sure. We know that Gibbed uses some debug flags for ME1 and that won't get carried over to ME3. The safest bet is to download a save from here and import that game into ME2.
Blegh. I can't fault Gibbed at all because he's just working with what he has, but would it really completely kill Bioware to release something that takes care of this? I care about that a billion times more than I care about getting a piece of the game some weeks early. Demos can be pretty nightmarish to put out, especially for PC, so that doesn't matter to me at all. However, this is just a dumb save editor that tweaks some values in a file; if Bioware can't get that out, yeah, that's just them being lazy.

STEROID PASTRIES YOU MEAN OBIOUALY STEROI DSPASTIRS

I love Gears and Call of Duty (one that's as good as 4 or even MW2 would be nice right about now though )
But I also love Planescape and Alpha Protocol and Elder Scrolls and Mass Effect
I don't know why nerd have to segregate into even more niche groups
can't we all just love video games v :? v

I actually wrote a fanfic where Shepard gets everyone on her team killed in ME2(but lives), then when the Reapers attack earth and she's trying to escape she gets sucked into a black hole.
There she finds Master Chief and Marcus Fenix and they agree to help her stop the Reapers since everyone else is dead.
But when they go through the portal, all of their universes collide.
So not only do they have to stop the Reapers, but they have to stop the Flood and the Locust too. All at the same time!
Don't get me started on when Price joins the fray and the Russians side with the Reapers.
What do you mean by full version? Is there another demo with more stuff to it or something?
...I mean the full version. The retail release. The thing the demo is demonstrating.
We had to wait six months after the 360 release for a PC version. ME2, thankfully, released both versions the same day. PS3 users even get to play along for ME3. I'm assuming that the reason 360 users are getting early demo access is because Microsoft wanted some favoritism. If the limits of this favoritism are four days of early demo access and Kinect functionality (which is mildly frustrating), I'll be thrilled.
If it means that there's more time spent on stuff like UI and bug fixing, I'd wait an extra year. Not that I'm still bitter about that quickbar CTD bug or anything
i liked taky's dudebro post about the bicep kissing
but i think the animosity towards this 'dudebro' boogeyman is a manufactured fear of "those who have so much taking away the final bastion of nerdhood"
i.e. if they get the girls and the cars and the popularity AND the games then what can we console ourselves with?
which makes it so delicious that FPJ is Vega - not just because bioware thinks he's the best vocal talent, but because he's a genuine fanboy about the series. i respect that immensely.
the reality is that the nerd and dudebro labels have never been accurate, and while some people internalize those labels and create an image from them (and some social experiences really kind of hammer this into folks), they wind up making a big deal out of nothing.
good entertainment is recognized by all sorts of people, and it makes me happy that mass effect has fans from all walks of life.

I remember Kotaku or someone else ran an article that was something like "Is Bulletstorm only for the 'Dudebros Generation'?"
and they simply could not believe that a good ol' fashioned nerd could find an FPS with silly dick jokes appealing
Man, if finding enjoyment in yanking a guy towards you, then shotgunning his head off, and then kicking his corpse off a ledge makes me a dudebro... then I guess I'll just have to live with that.

I think it's cause a lot of gaming "journalism" is still big on the whole "games are art" thing and only want emotionally engaging storylines and whatnot

Bros in disguise. When you're not looking they pop their collars and have a kegger.
what if we
are the bros?!
STEROID PASTRIES YOU MEAN OBIOUALY STEROI DSPASTIRS
So did I
and then I remembered how badly their sites laid out
Who cares? They have consoles and PCs that you can operate in a steam room!
Someone call Valve, their advertising campaign for the next 4 years is right there.
Harr harr.

the writing was top notch and the gameplay was really fun

The Reapers, Flood, Locust, and Russians...

needs to take place on the alliance moonbase where the VI is resurrecting dead presidents to fight the horde

Mass Effect does that and gratuitous violence!
Well your plot makes more sense lore wise than deception did
so probably
I'm just asking because folks on BSN are starting to get antsy about it.
I don't think its all of it, apparently there is still a trial
but otherwise yeah
and I think its fantastic
Yeah. The first part of the demo is the very beginning.
The second part is a later mission(since you recruited Garrus+Liara beforehand)
But some parts are missing from both.
Presumably the beginning of the game will also introduce Vega a little more than that and explain why Shepard is hanging out there in the first place.
The multiplayer demo is available for everyone on Friday Feb 17th? or only for those with Battlefield 3 codes? or do BF3 codes enable early access?
Steam - NotoriusBEN | Uplay - notoriusben | Xbox,Windows Live - ThatBEN
PRE-ORDER CANCELLED.
So no Phoenix Wright: Ace Spectre sadly.
@Ben: MP is available to everyone friday and tuesday to BF3 code holders.
I think I can handle my psychological addiction until then... just like that time with black tar heroine... yea... I can deal...
/end joke

BF3 owners get it on the 14th. Everyone else gets it on the 17th.
What about that whole expanding Bioware Empire thing, with the whole C&C Generals 2 thing?
Fuck the haters. I love that game. You guys could even like collab with Rocksteady and have them do the gameplay or something.
>_>
