The enjoyment of playing the demo?

Stress testing the servers so they don't collapse completely on release day?

Maybe the odd bug found and squashed?

We got our reward: we got to play.

Fuck that shit I want some kick-ass gun or something.

I just want to freaking unlock the goddamn quarian engineer!

    And the krogun!

Man did they set up the random drop so you're less likely to get new stuff the higher level you get or something? Cuz I haven't gotten -anything- new in two days. It's a little aggravating.

A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.

probability don't change the more you keep trying

it makes sense that if you only have one or two things left to unlock, probability says they're gonna be rare as fuck

Well, even if they didn't do anything special, raw math is against you.

Initially, a vast majority of stuff is new. Slowly, the balance shifts to old. Unless it's biased towards the new, you're out of luck eventually.

I understand basic probability. I'm just sayin', this is getting ridonkulous. There's a pretty fair share of unlockables that I haven't gotten yet

Gave the multi a try tonight. Gotta say, I'm liking how they changed up the gameplay, it's a lot more mobile than it was in ME2. Also, god fucking damn the AI's ruthless.

edit: Played as a human Vanguard, Nova is hella fun.

I died a lot initially as Vanguard because I use nova every single time I charged.

Even though I had read and processed the fact that it drains your barriers I would still use it every time.

I'm getting better at it now though.

Human Soldier, just making it rain concussive shot.

Any tips on taking on Guardians? I hit them with the concussive shot to stagger them but should I be aiming for the feet or what?

i nova pretty much everytime i charge

extra damage, gets any dudes who might be around off my back and quickens the cooldown on my next charge

    pretty useful

I usually use Nova in indoor areas or if I'm charging an enemy/small group of enemies isolated from the rest. I've also managed to use it to get enemies off my allies so I could rez them.

I uh, I killed a lot of Bararians. That is going to be bite me in the ass in 3 I bet. Gonna save the universe from the Reapers, and then BAM court marshal

    Another arrival spoiler
I don't usually do renegade interrupts but when Kenson pulls out that detonator I just went "fuck it, drop her" and was gratified to see Shepard put a few pistol rounds in her. Shame the bomb still went off.

    Arrival
Don't give a shit what race was living there, this is a battle for the entire galaxy. And beyond that, how do I know we just haven't been off-season and the reapers have been off raiding Andromeda?

In the ME3 Demo you get to see the first level, which sums up all of this, albeit very briefly.
Shepard has been stripped of rank and rotting in a cell since finishing The Suicide Mission and the Arrival DLC.

They give him a pardon after confirming that the reapers are on their doorstep. Anderson (Now an admiral) has him reinstated, and helps him get to the Normandy and get off the planet to find a way to stop the reapers.

    Speaking of the demo opening
Seems pretty obvious that Hacket took off with the home fleet because he's a smart guy that can tell when you have to save your forces for a later battle.

I hope so because I just assumed
He's dead with the rest of the fleet. If the Reapers are groundside, I assumed they'd killed their way through the fleet to do it.

Earth has one of the larger navies around. Like 3rd or 4th in size among all the Citadel races. While whatever fleet they have stationed around Earth clearly got turned into scrap metal in record time, no doubt there are other fleets swanning about in the Terminus Systems and Citadel space. And 5th Fleet was at the Arcturus Relay for the Battle of the Citadel, so it seems to me that Hackett probably isn't even stationed with Home Fleet.
Also he shows up in later game footage in trailers. I want him leading my combined fleet in the late game. All forces, rally to Hackett.

I do like, though, how goddamn FAST the Reapers tore through the fleet guarding Earth. Nice reminder that they are, well, Reapers.

Certain things get glossed over. The relays have crews. In Citadel space, that means Citadel friendly crews. And there a huge codex entry about galactic communications through the relays. In universe, there's no reason the Reaper fleet shouldn't have been easily tracked as heading to Earth.

Yeah. The first notice high command got was when the outer system pickets and sensor platforms went dark...and just minutes later the Reapers had crashed through the fleet and were taking pot shots at ferris wheels.

    Humanity, clearly, is outmatched here.

Although the Reapers aren't as implacable as the Shivans. As Cthulu-esque as the Reapers are, the Shivans are downright terrifying.

I think that's because you never actually talk to the Shivans.

Where as you talk to two separate reapers. Though They've still not explained why they turn up every so often to kill everyone.

Yeah but the relays are also reaper technology.

And the reapers love having backdoors into things that other races come to depend on.

Relays are reaper tech, wouldn't surprise me if they can cut off all communications and relay activity from a system just by getting close enough.

I think he went off somewhere with the Fifth Fleet, mostly because I remember hearing that he's the Main Dude In Charge in the MP part of the game.
