If a host does not provide their mafia-faction players with cover roles, then it is a problem on the host's part. This, incidentally, is why I avoid making games that rely too much on their source material, since it is much harder to assign a reasonable mix of roles to village and mafia players while still having a proper distribution as cover personalities. It's much easier, if basing a game off of an existing property, to have roles inspired by, but not directly cribbed from, the source.

No, I got that you would give them cover roles, I was just expecting they would get the Patron role, not both the patron and the organizer role, but that was my misunderstanding.

Oh come on. The day before you outed another mafia member to me privately haha! Surely you can see why maybe we'd be a bit hesitant to reveal ourselves to you.

And goodness, mafia, you guys were so depressing. Be more optimistic! :D

And according to @Egos, all credit for the victory goes to me. Yay!

Thanks for running, Blarney. It was lots of fun :)

the mafia was trying to vote me out? If you don't think a survival neutral wouldn't use that info to save himself, then you are cray cray

Yeah, I thought it would be more interesting if there were multiple villager roles in the game, and mafia members all got one of the two villager role PMs (The Anonymous aside) before getting their mafia role as a group conversation. This would also theoretically help to deter the mafia from stealing the base-level Investigation and passing it off as a full one, in case they wanted to take that risk. Incidentally, I didn't see any discussion of the differences in base PMs from the mafia side, which caused the mafia to be a bit shocked that The Anonymous was stated to have been undercover as a fighter the night he was eliminated.

he voted for you because I made a good case to him via pm to vote for you, because egos finally told me he was mafia that day, and that we could end the game if a villager was voted out and I bought an assassination of another villager.

Your post at the beginning of the day was super easy to construe as a mafia hail mary pass to get the vote on someone early. It didn't hurt that I had put forth a case that cayrus wasn't mafia just the day before, and gave shalmelo info that cayrus wanted me to pass along in the event of his death.

Thanks for running, Blarney. After doing the money and betting stuff in a mini I appreciate what you put into it.

Who was the mafia who failed to order their guard on day 6? Because we definitely had 3 planned...

Looks like there was some confusion and TA just sent an assassin bid in instead of guard. Whew.

@virgil_leads_you did you suspect egos and I and wanted to see how we would respond to being told to seer each other?

Also - something that village might not have quite fathomed the significance of fom Blarney's rule post.
Since our bids for services took a day to trigger it was incredibly hard to do what the village asked us to. Egos and I both had to partially lie about stories to hide the delay in our actions.
We also got pretty lucky when shalmelo asked me to assassinate flarne, since that is who I had already placed an order on :)

Yes, you and Egos were pretty suspicious, but my thoughts were that two mafia wouldn't give me the same dumb excuse, "oh man I was drinking and partying too much last night to put in a order, sorry", riiiiiiight? I was figuring at least one of you were a baddie. My question then was- who was the wealthy dude, and who was the baddie.

I handled you two pretty poorly. If I had survived that night, I was going to follow part of MrT's advice and request that both of you send me all of your cash, while simultaneously call for a kill of you two. I really should of set that up on the day I first heard your story. There was an aversion to being the necessary asshole for the role.
I should of mentioned my distrust to Shalmelo. Even if Shalmelo was a baddie, there wouldn't of been much danger to it.

I pretty much completely failed as village head, partially for reasons only Langly would know. and I'm sorry Langly. Sorry Ringo.

I also failed controlling the reveal process. Several decisions should of been made early in the day, and really lead the process through.

Durring the entire game there was a worry concerning having the money for the guard bid. I really should of demanded more cash from more players, and ignore how much of an asshole that would make me. Part of the fear, was that I would collect all of the village's money, only to die upon collecting it. The other worry was that if I started demanding money, I would have revealed how little I had.

I felt good about requesting the kill of The Anonymous.
Anywho, sorry guys. As sad as this post might read, I had fun.

Super surprised how long some people lasted after being suspicious this game. Maybe because it was harder to get kills in if you had to pay for them? I know I only came close after my day 1 win and sort of floudered after that. My best betting picks were done by coin flip on my last two days and I might have been able to do a kill if I lived one more day.

    Short version? Blame Langly.

    Long version?
The big thing for me was that I was sure that either Akimbo or Egos was mafia, but I wasn't sure which one (I honestly didn't expect that both of them were). If there were two mafia left standing I was sure it was one of them and you. When Langly came to me pushing for a vote on you, I thought it was a good chance to get to a 3-way tie with two people each, then see which person jumped and who they jumped to. I was actually content to let it end in a 3-way tie, because I knew that whoever was left that was mafia would be caught in it. Where I failed was in not letting Segatai know what I was planning (it was late and I had some liquor in me and I hadn't quite thought through all the ramifications). Ah well.

because people were starting to look at me as a suspect, and I was neutral. The choice to end the game that night, rather than have it drag on and maybe get hit by a vig or the vote, was more beneficial to me as a survivor.

The way we figured was that if he asked one of us to transfer, he would ask other people, and he would have no idea if we didn't transfer, since you don't know who transferred. Luckily it never came to that, but we spent a fair bit of discussion on the idea.

Thanks for running blarney. As a villager, I felt really hopeless early on, but watching the later stages of the game made me realize the village had quite a good shot.

Actually, it would have been fairly easy to break the mechanic if everyone had sent all their bets of virgil since the common pool was formulaic, but that would have taken a really organized effort that I haven't ever really seen here :)
Great game, overall, I had a lot of fun trying to figure it out.

So here's a question: how did I die?

Narration implied somebody bought an assassination for me. But I'm not listed in either the Program Headquarters as targeted nor on the Mafia Proboards.

    What happened?

Master spreadsheet says Akimbo (a mafia member) killed you. It's not on the proboards though, I don't really remember talking about it...
