I have installed mamp and comic press + comic press manager and am running Mamp on my macbook pro. I can't upload any comics nor can I seem to create a folder to manually put my comics in so that I can build my site offline. I have tried creating a "comics folder' in wordpress, comic press, and the comic press manager folders to no avail. Can someone point me in the right direction? What do I have to do create a comics folder and get them to appear offline using mamp?
Thanks

As you've probably seen, Comicpress.org is no longer under any sort of development whatsoever. Tyler Martin created the software and then moved onto bigger and better things (which he deserves, he's a good designer) and passed the torch to @frumph on twitter, a guy named Phil.

You can hit him up with specific questions and he's usually pretty good about helping out. Also if you've got $30 you can (and should) get a subscription to webcomics.com. It's a forum run by Brad Guigar (Evil Inc.) and there's a lot of comicpress support there since the comicpress.org forums have been spam nuked since last October.

Phil said recently that he's found a new team to work on comicpress so hopefully there's going to be a lot of updates soon.

I don't have a lot of experience with MAMP, but first off I'd get rid of Comicpress manager. It hasn't been updated since like 2009 so it's not compatible with new versions of WP and Comicpress. I mean it kind of still works, but it's buggy as shit.

Install wordpress, then comicpress, and then create a comics folder. You don't need the folder for the thumbs and archives like manager wants to install.

Once you've got the folder, you need to go into your core comicpress_config file and update it to the proper directory, and the proper ID for your comic posts and blog posts (you can only have those two categories for comicpress to work properly)

After that it should be easy. Are you using the right naming conventions, or have you not gotten to that step yet?

let me know if you need more help. I've built a few comicpress sites over the last few years with various themes.

are YOU on the beer list?

If you're using Dreamweaver, you can check out the thread I made a while back. It took me a while to figure this stuff out.

Thanks a ton for the posts. I am not sure how to update to the correct directory or ID though. I will ditch comic press manager. How should I go about updating the directory and ID?
