Fuck nerfs to assault, shooty armies are for bitches.
I'm gonna roll 4 flyrants with biomancy every game. Can't wait to roll 4 iron arms and take big nasty shits in people's dairy products.

The hilarious thing is Gargoyles get the rule, since they're jump infantry. I get what it's meant to represent - for monstrous creatures, it's smashing into the enemy, for jump infantry, it's landing on to of them. But still, some jump infantry just kill the awesome viasual you get seom it. Gargoyles, Scourges, Swooping Hawks... Yeah, can't see them doing any bone crunching impacts when they hit the enemy.
Dude, Gargoyles going all Hitchcock on motherfuckers.

Scourges and Swooping Hawks taking dumps on chumps from up high before landing to slap ineffectually at them?

Swooping hawks are the only ones doing any slapping. They have to get in close to dump off their haywire payload.

Ah, this reminds me of a little speculative snippet I found; what do we think is the likelihood of swooping hawks in a future Eldar codex being able to access the "flying high" flight mode of FMCs (not any of the rest though)?
Does anyone have some Imperial paperwork or something in a pdf or file that looks like a data slab?
I'm going to a really fluff based tournament with my Ad mech and I want to have a "spotting guide" for my opponents to know that X conversion counts as Y model.
I've already got the IG Casualty forms to hand out with my first kill, but I'm looking for more than just a black page with lime green lettering on it for the rest.
Hammer of Wrath makes me think they played a lot of DoW and Space Marine said 'we need that kind of jump pack shit in tabletop'.
I was never big on assault marines. I am now big on assault marines.
I agree with most of this post.
I always kinda liked assault marines tho.
I have about 20 chaos raptor conversions from when I had a go at making a counts as BA/Emperor's Children army. Part of me is tempted to fix them up for use, but I don't know how raptors will change next codex. Also...maybe new raptor minis. So maybe I should ditch them soon :P
I used to be all about the assault but playing shooty with my necrons is good fun.
Gunna be fun re-jigging my whole chaos army, both for 6th and the new book
500 point escalation round:
captain on bike, artificer, 2 power weapons (lance/axe umad?)
bike squad melta/plasma/mmelta/combi plas
abike squad mmelta/2 hvybolter

Yeah, I'm holding off on getting any new Chaos until I see a new 'dex.
I am holding off to get new chaos till I get some income coming in.
But I would love to have some more termis, another attachment of noise marines and another defiler(with magnetized turrets). Really defilers are pretty awesome with 4 hp now.
I can't wait for the new dex. I hoping Emperor's Children really get a nice buff.
Also I might get a Keeper of Secrets. I have always wanted to run one and now I can.

Ever since my buddies laughed at the proxy models I used, I've made it my mission in life to have as random proxies as possible.
The last time they popped a Raider, it disgorged a Tyranid Warrior, an Ogre Bull, a Tau Crisis Suit and a Stone Troll. And a high elf prince for Haemonculus.
Turn 1, a Land Raider (4 Hull Points) is (one Penetrating Hit) Immobilized. (-1 Hull Point)
Turn 2, that same Land Raider is (two Penetrating Hits) Immobilized again (-1 HP (or is that -2 HP?)) and Weapon Destroyed (-1 HP)
Is it Destroyed-Wrecked due to the immobilizing immobile vehicle (additional Hull Point (-2 HP)) damage result?

Had a good 2k game today. Vendettas are cheating and my Master of Ordinance is still better than ever. Seriously, INSANE. (I had 2, they pinned 4 units between the 2 of them and caused broadside unit to run off the table).
Sad as it it, I tried to get assaults in, but they really REALLY don't want you to assault. Oh well. I mean, I think out of all of our charges in the game, 2 went through. There were about 8 declared charges. These were not even long ranged ones either. Oh well.

Yeah, it should be destroyed-wrecked. The first pen hit causes a HP loss, plus a roll on the table. The next two pen hits cause HP losses, plus rolls on the table (so it's down to 1 HP). The immobilized result causes another HP to be lost, since now double immobilized goes to HP. So that's 4 HP losses, and it's wrecked.
Gonna have my painted Dark Eldar finally done this week! I AM EXCITE.
Looking forward to the decreased effectiveness of missile launchers vs my skimmers. +1 for open topped with ap3 in 6th is the same as not open topped ap3 in 5th! Awesome.

I played my first 2 6th ed games today and brought my Orks. Both were 1000pt games to just get used to the rules. Here are a few things I learned.
Thing I learned: Positioning your models is SO IMPORTANT.
I've played so much 5th edition where movement wasn't as big a deal that I tend to just throw around my units. You cannot do this in 6th edition. A friend called it microing and that sounded pretty accurate.
Although It's kind of cool as it brings a little of a skirmish feel to 40k. I could see this getting annoying in larger games though.
Thing I learned: Meganobs are awesome.
My 4 Meganobs beat 5 GK Terminators easily. He wounded me a bunch before I got to strike, but because I killed his thunderhammer with two skorcha blasts he only had Halbreds left so I easily passed my saves. An easy 8 powerklaw wounds back means the GK are toast.
My second game was against @McGibs and my MANZ charged his Crusaider/Assassin squad. My MANZ and his Assassins just obliterated each other (he had power axes) and only my Warboss walked away.
Thing I learned: Short table edge is annoying as fuck.
How common is it to have one of the 4' ends of a gaming table against a wall? Deploying on a side of the table that is against a wall is fucking annoying. LOS is almost impossible to check and you are constantly having to run around the table. Not only that, but even at only 1000pts having a 48" wide deployment zone was getting kind of crowded. 1500 or 2000pt games are going to be interesting.
Thing I learned: Dreadknights are OP
I'm only half kidding since I only played one game. But at 1000pts a single Dreadnight killed 7 Flash gitz, 20 Boyz, 2 Killa Kans and 4 Meganobs. I managed to get 3 wounds on it though, 1 from Flashgit shooting, 1 from Flashgitz in combat and 1 from the boyz. The S10 on it is amazing and the fact that it counts as a Character means it easily picks out any major threats to it. I'm interested to see how it is in a full size game.

I was poking around FW's website and found that the Dreadclaw pod is usable in 40k (don't know how long this has been a thing, sorry).
Now I need to redo all my lists once I find rules for it!
The most recent are in Imperial Armour Apocalypse Second Edition (NOT Imperial Armour Apocalypse 2).

only problem will be that first turn of shooting
And then realized sanguine sword is only str 10 for close combat attacks, whereas hammer of wrath is base str
And then realized also that wings of sanguinius only allow him to move like a jump unit, not assault like one

Guess I know how Genestealers end up with a 2" charge.
Then I need some of my money back. Yeah, I'm holding off on getting any new Chaos until I see a new 'dex.

Its like nobody on the internet has ever played a game with lots of difficult terrain on the table.
Anything that uses wording like 'moves like jump pack infantry' makes them jump infantry, with all of the associated rules.
The last time they popped a Raider, it disgorged a Tyranid Warrior, an Ogre Bull, a Tau Crisis Suit and a Stone Troll. And a high elf prince for Haemonculus.
For other people who didn't get theirs, for whatever reason, I heard they got a lot more than a refund. FWIW.
Now that I know the USPS didn't steal stuff from me again, I'm not so mad.
Manz went from meh to amazing in 6th. No longer slow. 2+ saves are great. And are just kind of awesome all around.

Seems like a common thing with you.
