So I was inspired quite a bit by Marshmallow's many pokeymans games here in CF and it struck me, after playing a lot of FATE recently, that you could probably adapt the game to represent the wild and woolly world of Pokemon quite well. So I've brewed up a small google document and would like your feedback.
Things in particular I'd like to hear about:
Suggestions to clean up certain pieces; for example I'm sure someone out there would have a better idea for differentiating the types a little more in the glossary.
Initial Impressions; did you think it was cool? Would you play it if I ran it?
Things I missed; this is still a huuuuge WIP at the moment, and I think I covered the essentials to run a decent game of PokeFATE... but if you see some holes let me know!
Numbers suggestions; I've come up with these numbers pretty much just by eyeballing things. If you have an idea for changing a mechanic let me know; I'll definitely put them down in the doc as ideas since I want to playtest this and get an idea for what works and what doesn't.
Things I WOULDN'T like to hear about:
Rules explanations; this is written for people who know what I mean when I use a term like
aspect or
stress - if you need these terms explained I'm more than willing to help out but I'm not going to fill the document will a full system reference.
Move suggestions; if you want to make up some moves, by all means! I'm not planning on making a move list though since I think it's a pretty simple process.
Names; I like these names and think they're easy to grok. If you have name ideas throw them out there but don't expect much!
and without further ado, link is

I wanna be a Master. A Pokemon Master!
Who's with me?
Now comes the part where I am mean and rip things apart.
I see you have the farmework for the various weaknesses and advantages of a few of the types already set in place. For example fighting types dealing more damage to normal types and flying types dealing more damage to bug types. I'm just wondering if you are planing to expand that further as the game develops.
I'd personally love to see crafting in the form of basic traps, gadgets, pokefood, and pokeballs brought it but I fully understand if that isn't something you'd want to consider.
Nice work Arcanis.
