I'm actually pretty bad at this idea of Mother's Day / Father's Day. In fact, I'm bad about being in touch with my family ever. They've been a constant source of problem for me. Lately I haphazardly decided to try and turn that around, calling my brothers for once, observing mother's day. It was so far so good 'til now. See, I decided to make my mom this:



And she responded by not thanking me and avoiding it. She knows it is there, I heard her on the phone saying to someone or another, "Henry is making me a cake of some sort," and I guess I let her down.

So what'd you homps do for mother's day?

I feel your pain @Henroid , got into a huge fight with my dad, then mom, over the phone AT WORK because I couldn't get time off to see them today. Nevermind that our relationship has been strained for years, and because they dont support me one iota, even in thought, their only attempt at leverage is guilt-tripping me (over made up things).

Damn, that really sucks Henroid!

I went out to lunch with my mom (along with my brother and stepdad) at a local pizza place where I live that is really good. Gave her a card and dark chocolate. This gift is inferior though, as I did not make the dark chocolate myself! Also, apparently the Mother's Day card was the exact same card that my mom and stepdad got for his mother, although that was actually something she found funny.

My mother is here! I actually never sent her anything for UK mother's day (back in March) but we have a whole month together now and she gets to hold her granddaughter every day. Oh, but I am buying her a new bag, too!

I actually spent more on Mori's mother, but then I am also hosting my mother and paying for groceries and whatnot.

We always get Mori's mother a gift certificate to this awesome local day spa. It is such a boringly predictable gift (her birthday, Christmas and Mother's Day gift) but then she keeps swearing it's what she wants most.

Last night we all had dinner together and Mori's sister cooked the best asparagus, oh my
