Two hours to go until the steam keys unlock!!! I hope they send out the kickstarter swag real soon.

And Steam key entered, now we wait.

Sadly I wasn't able to complete my FMV trilogy replay before today, only got through Under a Killing Moon and Pandora Directive (fuck Area 51, that is all), didn't even start Overseer (so no Big Jim Slade/Richard Norton, sadly). But my body is ready.

I have had the games for years and I am in the same position, BlackDragon480. What I need to do is make a video game bucket list and put it on it. I guess I should throw Martian Memorandum in there. Overseer is a remake of Mean Streets, so there is no need to play the old one.

Interestingly enough, this game was made with Unity. It really shows how well that package works.

And it's live. Might want to start the download early, since it's a 13.6 GB download.

Big download is big. Looks like I have time to mow the yard before I reunite with the denizens of Chandler Ave :D

Let's see. 14.93GB, downloading from GOG at... err... just over 850KB/s (more likely my internet than their servers turning in that sorry speed). And it's 10:10pm here.

Might be leaving my lappy on overnight to get Tex goodness.

Just had a quick crack at the Steam version before going to bed, and despite a stuttering audio problem, marvelous. Wandering around the old neighbourhood just as I remember it only in proper continuous 3d is a major nostalgia rush, as are the various 'flashbacks' you can trigger - Including an hilarious one to the original Mean Streets game.

    Yeah, I'm definitely digging it.

    Stuck, but digging it.

I'm guessing I'm missing something that
gives the code to the warehouse.

I got a kick out of seeing those again. It also works perfectly with the plot as well. I am up to the start of Day 3. It is great to see a better realized Chandler Avenue.

    Hint:
It's hidden close to the warehouse entrance itself. Look around carefully.

I'm up to Day Five I think and really enjoying it. I'm hoping it's not as short as it feels, since I'm only 3 hours in, but this is bringing back serious nostalgia for Under a Killing Moon (I didn't play Pandora Directive or Overseer).

The acting is more solid than it was in UAKM and certainly the video quality is excellent. The only complaint I have so far is sometimes the dialogue choices are a little too abstract, so I don't really know what I'm choosing between.

I think the GB crew are getting a little too snarky and jaded. The clip is spoilerish if you have not finished Day 1.

Probably not the place to ask since everyone here probably already owns it, but...

I bought the game launch day then friday I got an email from Big Finish/Kickstarter saying "Here's your free copy from your backer pledge!"

So who wants a copy of the game?

edit: Wait, why did you buy it on launch day if you also KickStarted it? Just that big of a fan?

Nah, the great thing was them clearly being snarky at the start, and then having such crazy and silly shit happen that they couldn't help but be impressed by the end.

I funded the kickstarter loooong ago and forgot about my reward level.
Guess I'll see how much desire is in the thread and then see if I should do a random draw thing or just give it away.

@Nocren @Krathoon Count me in for any giveaways. I'm still bummed at watching the early sale come and go while I was without any online purchasing ability.

Ok then. I'll do the drawing friday. PM me to throw your fedora into the ring by thursday.
I already have Sir Carcass, Ianator, and cooljammer.

One of the annoying things about the Tex Murphy series is that way too much happens on Chandler Avenue. It was probably a budgetary thing, but they need to branch out the locations more. If they end up making another, they should add a street or two.

The only time that really bothered me was Pandora Directive where you suddenly meet Tex's landlord.

Though it did give us that great line "It's the middle of April and I'm a little behind on my Feburary rent."

Given the time skips/jumps between each game, I can see the avenue building up/breaking down.

    It's friday.

Geth, roll 1d3 for a winner.

And @cooljammer00‌ gets the shiny fedora!

EDIT: And so I don't make 3 posts in a row...

Aaron Conners is just about to release the novelization of Tesla Effect on his website. $17 for a paperback, $6 for shipping (www.aaronconners.com has details on international shipping) and he will autograph the book if you ask nicely. Pre-order the book and he'll throw in an e-copy of the shooting script as well.

    a winner:
    1d3 3 [1d3=3]

Now hear this: the legacy Tex Murphy games are now on Steam, all five of 'em! Mean Streets, Martian Memorandum, Under A Killing Moon, The Pandora Directive and Overseer! If anyone gets them, could you share how well they run?

If they're based on the GoG versions (probably brought to Steam via Big Finish's deal with Atlus), they should run just fine.
