I gave it a try earlier today. Felt pretty rough (especially movement), but that is to be expected at this stage in development. The potential is pure awesome though.
Edit: Important to note that the video above shows stuff in development which is not in the currently-downloadable release, but will be implemented soon.
I just imagine the guy getting smacked by the spinny things and going "Oof! I'm alright! I'm alright!" And getting up somewhat wobbly and dusting himself off. And then walk into the next one.
god damn, there are quite a few sandbox games coming out that I am slightly aroused for, this one made the cut for sure.

Y'know they could change the name. I mean it's Minecraft in space, they could just call it, I dunno, Starcraft or something catchy like that.
Thanks folks, I'll be here all week. :rotate:

The whole bit with the physics system making you bump against upright geometry, fall over, crawl, and all that really caught my interest a lot. In a lot of ways, FPS avatar mechanics haven't changed much since Quake 1. Things that look human but are really just perpetually upright camera tripods that only fall over when dead.
This seems to shatter that quite a lot.
One suggestion, though:
The game logo is beyond fugly and has to be redone, for the love of God.
Their Indiegogo campaign is over 40k now with quite a bit of time left. Really hoping this "goes viral," as the kids say, and blows the goal out of the water because if anything deserves it it's this.
Procedural generation seems to finally giving up the goods. It's doing so many fun things, and I am all kinds of happy about that.
Nice to see voxels making a return too.
Watching that first video pretty much instantly reminded me of Crysis' map editor. It's interesting to see where that can go as an actual gameplay method.
I'm highly doubtful that any heavily-simulated movement system can actually work in a game. Keyboard and mouse do not provide the input necessary to include things such as future intent, which would be required to make something like this feel like anything but a drunken hippo on ice. Most FPS games are "hovering camera with instant acceleration" for a reason.

Well there is a free playable demo on their site, you just need to register to download. It's still in alpha so all the finetuning still needs to be done.
At least their is allready playable content. A lot of crowdfunded stuff only make promises.
In a few days they will post a new gameplay video.

This game looks amazing, gonna have to donate to the cause when I have a bit of extra cash (the developers also just live a few hours away from me). My roommate and I are Minecraft Survival mode fanatics so this is definitely on our list. Looking forward to eventually building space elevators.
EDIT: Just skipped through some of the developer walkthrough, the dev was explaining that tunneling underneath your enemies defenses in fort wars is a totally viable tactic. Sold.

Consider me intrigued to the max. And maybe slightly aroused.
If all they had was a list of things they wanted in this game I would say this would never be.
But since I have just watched the video I got to say, this looks really, really cool.

Pledged $35 to their Indiegogo thing because duh. Look at this shit. How could I possibly resist?!
man, this looks like it could be the beautiful symbiosis of games that I've loved (Battlezone, Halo, Red Faction, among others) if it pans out
Did it steal all the awesome?
Is nothing else going to be awesome after this?
This is the reason the price of barrels of Awesome are at historic highs.
At this rate we will need to find alternative sources to Awesome soon.

It looks fun. Halo meets Terraria, there is a demo on their site.
Hopefully they will reach the 75k marker.

well its an alpha made by three guys in their spare time for 2 years
I'm sure they can smooth it out
I'm keen to see what a new movement system brings.

Right but the direction they're taking the movement system is hugely counter productive
Even good developers with 8 figure budgets would have a hard time with it
Currently playing: GW2 and TSW
I completely agree on the movement comments before. It just feels weak.
One could say an advantage of indie games is that it lets the developers play with ideas that no publisher would touch with a ten foot pole.
Sometimes this is not actually much of an advantage.
Agreed with the movement. Looks promising.
