I'm really intrigued by this game suddenly. It looks like a cross between League of Legends and Bloodline Champions (which is kind of neat, but I didn't stick with it due to a lack of variety). Short game times and relatively simple itemization should give it a solid niche if everything is executed well.
Does anyone have a vague idea of how often invites come out?

They're going to spread like the plague now that people are inviting people are inviting people, etc.

Holy crap, I almost lost a game just now guys! I managed to barely pull out the win as Arachne, despite Anubis and the water guy never being there for pushing or teamfights. Then they blamed me for it. Ahhh, love that dota community feeling.
In other news, Arachne is awesome and she can carry pretty hard late game, as well as being a fantastic initiator for teamfighting.

I am very interested in how this stacks up against SMNC.
If I could snaffle an invite from somebody, that would be peachy.
Edit: I am downloading right now.

I could go for an invite if someone has one... would be able to give them a firefall invite next time they give me a couple (just used my last two on other PAers).

Oh, this is one of those cash shop unlock grinds, and in the beta? I may not even bother then.
Thats one of the things that worries me,while its too soon to say if its gonna take way too long to unlock something in SMITE,HiRez is also in charge of Tribes Ascend and some weapons in that game take foorreeevveer to unlock(still a great game though)
I have to say, that trailer made it look really, really unpolished and ugly. However I've heard almost universally good things about it, so I'm looking forward to when they get around to sending me an invite to their beta.

Getting 20-100 points per game, as well as 1k per level. I've got I think 40 games, maybe a few less, and unlocked two gods. They've stated all gods will be the same price, no pricing tiers like LoL.
Avoid Hel like the plague. I bought her first with the impression she was going to wreck face and, while she isn't terrible, there are definitely champs out there that do WAY better then she does (I'm looking at you, Odin.) in the damage department. She's a wonderful support though, and can accelerate a good team considerably. She just can't carry on her own.
All right, I haven't, like, played the game yet or anything, but after spending a little bit of time reading up on the gods, I'm having a really hard time believing that Hel isn't awesome. She can purge all CC and grant a 3-second immunity to it in an AoE on a ten second cooldown. Potentially eight seconds, even! That has got to be the single most broken-sounding thing I've ever heard of in this kind of game. And between AoE damage and the ability to heal up a whole team on the move after a teamfight, she looks like she should be a pushing fiend too. Her burst damage is kind of mediocre compared to some of the other mages, I guess, but it shouldn't need to be amazing with that much defensive utility.
Her recommended item build looks super-dumb, though. I mean, Book of Thoth and Obsidian Shard? That can't possibly be efficient on a supportish person with mediocre scaling. In terms of pure armchair math, I'd expect better out of something like maybe Polynomicon/Void Stone/Breastplate of Valor/X. Polynomicon would help keep her damage up even when using defensive spells, a -MR aura makes more sense on a support than higher personal magic penetration (especially a support who is going to forego half of her damage for healing occasionally), CDR is always a plus, you still get as much or more defense...it's just off the top of my head with a limited understanding of the game, but still. It's gotta work better than dumping straight nuker items on her and act like she's going to keep up in that arena.
I guess you wouldn't want to pick her against a team with lots of burst damage and barely any CC, but based on my experience in LoL and Dota 2 I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the idea of someone who can totally shut down stuns and slows not being an incredible pick.

She's good if you know what you arr doing. She has the same problem as hades. If you aren't in a coordinated team you are doomed. Also, she dies in half a sobek combo.
kali's 2 feels a bit strong. i mean, maybe the dudes i was going against were building tanky enough, but i wasn't doing outrageously and was still easily nuking down dudes a good 1/4 of their health. seems out of line.
game is interesting, i wish the item system read a bit better. i have auto item on right now because it seems very bland and i don't really feel like expounding the effort.
Just finished a game as Artemis in left lane, 5/3/11. We were 4v5 with our Ra AFK from the beginning of the match and still won. Very satisfying.
So far I'm enjoying how this game isn't determined solely by the first five minutes. In League of Legends if the carry gets a couple kills early it pretty much steamrolls from there, but this game doesn't feel as punishing in that regard. I can see how some people are going to see as this as a turn-off, but for me it satisfies a casual itch that lets me enjoy just having fun without stressing out that my team will find me a liability if I die a couple times.
Last-hitting in 3D is a whole new challenge. I still try to do it as the match permits but being able to get gold just from being near the minion wave is nice.

The answer is that this is nothing like SMNC. I'm not sure if it is working for me yet, but I will have another crack at it none the less.
I demand some kind of bonus skin for also having been in the Tribes beta though

The game desperately needs more gods. The seventeen they have are gonna get old pretty quick. Here's hoping those thirteen that were discovered in the files drop soon.

I loooooove having a large variety, and I'd love to have more gods as well. However, I found that sticking with just one god and trying to master them has been a lot more fun than my usual antics of hopping from one character to the other. So, I'm sticking with Ao Kuang for now; he's awesome. A lot of his utility is on a crazy psychological level, too: His whirlwind scares the shit out of people, and I've single-handedly held off entire teams just with careful placement of it.

I expect that there will be something else to use up cash on aside from gods and skins on the way.

In a older version of the client, there used to be something called a "Altar" in the menu for each god. (The menu where you could see the god's details & skins.) It was locked, and disappeared with a recent update. Mentioned something about "offerings," which I'm thinking were some sort of rune system to spend Favor on.

This sounds like what I've been waiting for. An LoL style game with WoW style controls. If there are still keys to be had, I will be most pleased to accept one and pay forward any referrals that grants me.

A and D bind to strafing instead of turning, by default, so it's a bit better than WoW's controls.
Wow, that video certainly did make it seem like loads of fun. He certainly had high praises for it. It just bumped up from very curious to maybe dropping cash on it.

You can't do things like Purge Odin's ult, Or Zeus's, or anyone else that is going to annihilate your team, and it's not CC immunity (She was nerfed really hard this patch.) it's reduced CC. Her scaling is 'eh' and while her passive gives her great MP5/and AP, she still does 'okay' damage. I was rocking nearly 500 Magic Power in most games with her and I could think of many more heroes who could better use that AP. All of her abilities stack with AP (Including her healing abilities.) but the drawback lies that you had best be great at landing two skill shot nukes, or you might as well just sit behind and heal.
So... yeah... if anyone can spare a code, I think I'd like to give this a shot. I'm just worried about Hi-Rez and their pricing systems, but... mobas...

It reminds me a lot of GW2's PVP.
Well, I shall feast on this in between the GW2 beta weekends, then.
