You got all 700 comic book pages and are still complaining that there's no reason to play anymore?

  • ErrorError Registered User regular
Look, I'm not looking for story events and such. But why do the random crimes stop happening? Is that really so hard to program? Anyway, I guess I'll look forward to some DLC if it happens.

I actually prefer that you can actually beat all the random crimes

Web of Shadows drove me fucking insane in that its side missions never stopped

I'm in full agreement on this. I was always just like "DEAR GOD! NO MORE! I'VE DONE THIS SO MANY TIMES!!"

It was really awful. But man people are really looking for reasons to hate this game. It's madness. The swinging sucks. The side missions are awful. When you beat the game it ends! I don't know how the hell you're supposed to please Spider-Man fans.

As a quick side note - I'm really enjoying this game. It's awesome. Some might even say....Amazing? ;)

So wait, after the game is beaten, you can't just go around beating up random mooks? There is literally nothing left to do?

You can, but you can "finish" those sidemissions and THEN there are no more random crimes. So you can basically 100% the game and THEN there is nothing left to do.

My bad. I meant when you 100% the game. Not just complete the story.

It does spoil quite a bit.

So I already really liked the game. I finally got to see the movie and I appreciate this game even more now. Excellent film with a great game tie-in. I hope we see a few things mentioned in the game used in the next movie, especially after reading the profile for Scorpion and Dr. Morbius.

Can you reply missions later one?

I already know I missed a magazine in one of the indoor areas, and I'll probably want to end up collecting them all.

So this is pretty much the best Spider-Man game ever. The only negative i can see is the lack of web swinging animations. A few more animations like some different flips and poses would be perfect. Also, that thing from Web of Shadows where he would slide across the side of a building on his knees, id like to see that.

A little bummed that the game doesnt have the classic red and blue costume, but the black costume works well enough.

    Aaaaand done.

Pretty fun game, the traversal around Manhattan is awesome, the way web rushes link together by running from walls, along buses and leaping all over the place was great. I thought the non anchored swinging would seem weird at first but leaving it super late to swing makes it seem like there is something there.

The boss fights outside were great too, but having almost every actual story part happen in a closed off area seemed like a waste of the city. Combat could have been snappier, maybe too used to Rocksteady's better version but felt like I sometimes had to wait for enemies to attack because the animation wasn't there to have the split second cancel out of an attack of your own.

I think im pretty much fucked on the Seeker bot situation. Swung around for over an hour and didnt encounter one :( there's still sniper teams so i figured there'd still be robots. Have to replay on hard anyway for that achievement, guess ill just get the concept art achievement then too.

Almost have all 700 comic paged too. Once you hit 500 they begin appearing on your mini-map based on proximity. So thats pretty cool.

Playing last night, I ran into a secret boss. That 80's Guy-Man. If you take too much damage from him, he infects you with Boneitis.

How do you unlock the alternate costumes? All I've gotten is the horrible man-spider one for completing the game.

  • Skull2185Skull2185 Registered User regular
They're unlocked by finding, and photographing, rather hard to see Spider-Man logos around the city. You also wont find them without a guide, probably. For the black suit I had to set my Xbox's date to 2013, and then found the logo in the inside roof of a little gazebo in a park. NOt sure why they locked the costumes away by date, but there ya go. Your best bet is to hit up the Youtubes.

    Hi.
I just finished the story last night, and after the credits and the final scene I get to a loading screen and I can go no further (it never finishes loading).
    Has anyone had this happen?

    Bought the game on PC.
    Looks and plays "amazing".
Protip for everyone though: If you use V-sync, the game will be locked at 60fps ABOVE the city/inside buildings but if you are down on the streets it will be locked at 30fps!!!
So if you want to always play with 60fps, you either need to disable V-Sync or use D3DOverrider.
Forcing it through NVidia control panel gave me the same problems.

Bought the game, loving it. Still bugged a little bit by the "webs sticking to nothing" thing, but swinging around using a combo of the web-zip and standard swing is very fun. Indoor bits work well too, which i think is a first!

So ASM2 is out today. Some impressions:
I snagged it a little while ago and played the first few missions. Really digging it so far. Graphics on character models is pretty meh but otherwise it looks great. The swinging is superb. You can let go of swings early to build momentum or hold them longer for height, and webs attach to buildings! It's very close to SM2 swinging for PS2/oXbox, which we all know is good. Combat is flashy but a lot tighter this time around. Spider-man's animations are great too, especially on finishers. The city is bigger too, and has much better detail and lighting. Night time looks awesome. Looking forward to unlocking some costumes.

A quick look at the swinging system I made

Is it me or are the controls in this game squirrely as all hell? Maybe I'm just used to the old Treyarch games but good christ they just don't feel right. I'm flopping into buildings or just blowing by them at mach ten when I'd rather stop. And god help me if I want to actually wall run - he seems to do fine for a minute and then bounce off and rocket in the opposite direction half the time. I've failed each of the two fire rescue missions I've attempted, both times because I can't seem to both move quickly AND precisely. And I'm even less of a fan of the Web Dash thing - it just breaks up what should be a very fluid, organic movement flow.

I dunno, it just seems like no game can get this control scheme right since SM2. Very frustrating.

It's a touch janky when going from high speeds to stopping, but I have had a pretty good time with it so far. I find tapping the Web Dash to be more effective than holding it. I disliked the stealth portions because it can be tough to go undiscovered when you accidentally drop down in front of all the guards.
I dislike how the hero/menace system works. I enjoy the random sidequests but it seems like after every mission I ak a Menace again, and have to do 2-3 missoons to become a Hero once more.
Loving the extra suits (Got Miles Morales and Richochet's suits so far).

  • HalfmexHalfmex I mock your value system You also appear foolish in the eyes of othersRegistered User regular
Yeah the side missions seem fun enough but the hero/menace meter is a bit annoying due to the fact that the meter depletes if you don't complete them in time. A shame, since I never seem to get a moment to go chase the collectibles down unless I want my meter to drop. I get what they were going for but making those missions feel so mandatory is disappointing.

So far I've only got the pre-order suits but those have been pretty great and I do like that the more you use them, the more powerful you become with that suit.

Hopefully after I unlock more skill upgrades the web swinging won't feel so janky.
