Me on the left, after healing the PLD through The Vault for his first time.
For lighting I just tried to have lights #1, #2, and #3 at equidistant 120-degree angles. I'm guessing that worked because it brightened the armor. Or is it better to arrange them in a T-formation with forward, then directly left and right?
either / or! the goal is when you place lights to eliminate awkward shadows and draw focus to your subject. the placement can change due to the presence of natural light
got my dyeable chestpiece for Samurai so i've been playing with that in the latest photo shoots and seeing how much i can use the emotes to get evocative shots. pretty proud of the tall portrait:

A lot of the times, I try and accentuate the light that's already there.
So if I'm near a lamp or a street light or whatever, I will put a lightsource there and try and make it a similar colour to the light(usually on a brightness of 1 or 2 depending on how far away it is). Then, if I'm outdoors, I put a light from above and set the colour to whatever is appropriate for the time of day.
I usually don't use brightness 3 unless I actually want the whole scene lit up or I'm doing a "whitescreen" shot in my photo booth.

I completely forgot that maintenance started tonight and is going to last a full 24 hours. So instead of a night of leveling like I hoped, just ran over to Gridania and took some pictures by the flowers.
am I just imagining it or weren't you a blue au'ra?
That's my main I've been leveling for the past year. The Lalafell is one I speed-leveled starting three weeks ago on a different server.
Oh yeah, just remembered I also have a Hyur that I played back when I was playing this game the first time back in 2014. Only got to level 32, had less than 10k gil on hand so couldn't buy fancy glamours, so just had to make do with what was on hand.
Guild Wars 2 finally has another greatsword skin that doesn't look like a giant surf board!
Rejoice at its thinness! Like an actual sword, even!
Okay enough of that. After all, we're playing a fantasy MMO, and what would a fantasy MMO be without giant impractical swords with giant red glowy eyed lions and spiky bits on them?
And yes, it does animate and make chainsaw noises and shoot smoke out like a proper charr weapon should.

Filled up my Glammer space. 200 slots goes quick if you're not careful.
I want to relearn DRK after getting BLM to 70. I figure doing the dungeons in order would be the best bet to get back in the grove.
Items:
Weapon: Lockheart
Head: Steel Barbut (soot black)

Feet: Adamantite Greaves of Fending (soot black)
Hoowhee! It's been a rough few months, hasn't it. But new stuffs has finally come out for GW2 and it's so awesome I'm going to have to (externally) link some animations to go with all the cool new things that just got added!
First and foremost, new legendary greatsword. Look at this big boi, it's twice as big as the biggest charr! The hilt alone is taller than an asura, holy geez!
Every class has its own unique animations with it! But you must see the mesmer's one because it takes the meta text about the mesmer greatsword and makes it the text.
Also for you WvWers out there they made a mount specific to your game mode. It's a cat.
The missing eyes are a graphical glitch on my game atm, it's supposed to look like this
It doesn't move too quick, but it's still slightly faster than normal movement and has a range of skills that WvWers have found to be pretty useful, including a pounce that instantly finishes foes. Right after the release WvWers had a lot of fun with that, but it's been toned down significantly since.
That's all for now, keep MMO'ing you crazy ESO and FF14ers, can't wait to see what's coming out of your XPacs!

It drifts!
It skips on water!
It lets you do tricks!
It raises the roof!
Give a big thumbs up to your best beetle bike friend, Petey the ROLLERBEETLE!
Just, y'know, hop in game, unlock it, and start blasting this song on your speakers as you shoot your body into the moonlight!

Goes nicely with the look that's come together for my WvW Guardian.
Also discovered that the zephyr glider set goes well with the Luminous weapons you also got:

ORBITAL. LASER. CANNON.
Seriously, check this shit out.
Also when you throw it, it turns into a fuma shuriken so that's pretty neat too.
Oh, also there's a new mount in the game and it's a dragon.
Lookit how cute this lil' guy is.
And sure you might be like "ooooh muh MMO already have dragon mounts abloo abloo abloo" and that's cool I guess. In GW2 they breathe fire on your enemies when you dismount.
Also for you WvWers out there they made a mount specific to your game mode. It's a cat.
