Haha, wow. Once you get missile launchers on Axton's Turret that really livens up big fights.

i spent a couple hours last weekend farming all the first rank challenges on one of my characters except jimmy jenkins

got jimmy jenkins to pop out... on an alt

i guess if worse comes to worse i can always refarm those challenges

my axton is more of an renaissance man anyway

probably well on my way to a lot of them

    Axton's turret is silly

i have like, Sentry and missiles and that's it, and this thing is outpowering me by a ludicrous degree

Do Or Die is a 5-point talent; it allows you to throw grenades while in Fight For Your Life, and increases grenade and launcher damage by like 10% per rank. A 1-point investment will still allow you to toss nades while downed, though, so if that's the only aspect of the talent you're interested in, you can essentially consider it a 1-pointer.

For Axton? It's only a 1 point talent, it was incorrectly flagged as 5 on the official talent calc though.

Is this right? I'll put a note by the link in the OP if it is.

    EDIT: Thanks, @Maddoc.

Only achievements I have left now are the action skill achievements for Maya, Sal, and Zer0

Guess it's time to play other characters

if youre just going for the achievements i would highly recommend doing the Tiny Tina leveling method to get your characters up to appropriate levels (sal has to be lvl 25, and zero has to be lvl 31. maya only has to be lvl 5, but you might as well get her up tp 20 or so to make it trivially easy). then play through the beginning of the game with each of them. i got zero's trophy on the first group of bullymongs you meet, you could probably get sals on the large group of bandits that come through after you blow up the door after boom and bewm, and heres the easiest method to get maya's done (plus get some badass points while youre at it)

edit: this assumes you have a 2nd conroller for split screen i guess. i did it that way and it took an hour, an hour and a half to get the three characters trophies i needed done.

Axton's turret is also surprisingly survivable, even on PT2

Even without longbow I found it could generally survive half or more of its (extremely long boosted) duration. With longbow? I rarely see it die, even under direct fire from badasses. It can take far more punishment than Axton.

EDIT: yeah, it's one point. You can see in the screenshot I posted of my build since I use that skill.

Ok I have reached the not fun anymore threshold.
I got ffyl fifteen times in like ten seconds trying to get an echo log

Seriously if they nerf the bee make the damn enemy damage output tolerable a two level difference grunt kills me in three hits even with a proper shield and that's absurd.

Not yet, I'm in the tree for the talent that gives you health regen when you kill enemies so I think that's going to end up giving me the second gun on the turret with 100% slag effects.

I really wanted to go nuclear, but I wanted the health talent.

Were the damage numbers as inflated in BL1 as they are here? What will they do for all the DLC? (I think I asked the same question in Dungeon Defenders... I need to go and see how that worked out... their numbers were so large they didn't fit in the UI anymore, last time I looked.)

Heard the proposition that RIAA and MPAA should join forces and form "Music And Film Industry Association"?

You're talking about Able, right? Can I make a suggestion? With 5/5 Able, you'll regenerate 2% of your Total Health every second for three seconds after damaging an enemy. Seems pretty good. But compare it with Preparation, over in the Survival tree: 5/5 Preparation grants you +15% shield capacity and restores 2% of your Total Health while your shields are full. Able is a Tier 3 talent (meaning it requires a 15-point investment, if that's all you're looking for in Guerrilla), while Preparation is Tier 1. So, you're capable of snatching up the Nuke if you go with Prep. Finally, there are no class mods (that I'm aware of) that grants bonuses to Able. There are mods that boost Preparation, though.

What I'm getting at is that Preparation seems like a much better investment than Able, if all you're looking for is health regeneration.

Especially if you're chasing that Nuke at the end of Gunpowder.

Just finished playthrough 1. Got all areas explored and I'm fairly sure that the only mission left is the level 50 boss one.

Pretty close to having the challenges done too. Although looking them up, just getting some of the secret weapon challenges to appear could take a while.

In one they raised the level cap for two dlc one didn't give experience and zombie island kind sorta scaled.
Even scaled though the enemies in one weren't this crazy.
Frankly at this point if they don't fix the damage a skag will be able to one shot you at level sixty.

Able also doesn't stack, which makes it rather vague on what its actually doing. I had it maxed out and I hardly noticed any difference.

  • MaddocMaddoc I'm Bobbin Threadbare, are you my mother? Registered User regular
Able is basically just another source of 2% health regen as long as you're damaging enemies. Which is basically always.

It's not the best skill, but it's better than a lot of other choices in Guerilla imo.

The game engine seems way more solid in this one. I guess it is due to the models having higher poly counts, faster load times, and the interfaces being less intrusive. It is hard to explain. It just feels tighter.

ffffffffffffffffffffricken' 'friendlies'. I'm in FFYL, need one or two more shots on the only nearby enemy for second wind and some ARSE of a 'friendly' (I use the term loosely) takes the kill and leaves me to die an ignoble and inglorious death. Thanks then.

yesssssss jenkins finally popped for me after a couple hours of doctors orders wildlife preservation runs. thank FUCK.

anyone here on the ps3 hit lvl50 yet and want to try to take on Terramorphous? thats the last trophy i have left. i dont know if my gear is good enough to take him on quite yet, but its not like i have anything else to throw this eridium away on so why not give it a shot.

Okay, so I hit level 30 and beat the Hyperion info station. My quest objective is 'Finish This'.

Only problem is my weapons are 5 levels out of date, the slot machines suck nuts, and the most recent lvl 31 boss is a stingy bitch who drops one green item at a time. Which wouldn't be so bad except no one in Sanctuary has a quest available above like lvl 18.

Whoever decided that weapons should become obsolete more quickly due to scaling AND they should need the vending machines to white items only needs a nice kick in the balls.

Plus you can kill the big mech enemy at the bus stop who has great drops, and get the rare hyperion chest at the top of the info archive.

It's a very good place to farm at the end of the game.

It's a fair assumption considering scumbag publishers like EA like to put day one DLC on the damn disc and then expect you to pay for it. Thankfully Borderlands has one of the few decent publishers left though :)

The worst part about that is
That he may already have dropped one... Into the lava.

Boggles the mind that he is just pissing loot into the lava, who tested this part?

I was lucky on my first kill, he dropped a legendary - the Impaler Shield, almost missed it.

"Vlad would be proud" best line I've seen so far on an orange, its a corrosive Nova shield, but instead of nova bursts, the shield fires corrosive projectiles from the shield, badass.

You're right. I definitely could have missed one. I don't think I have, though, because I always stand back and watch the loot as it flies out. If any non-White items fly out there, I go get them. You don't instantaneously die in that area; it's actually shallow enough to stand in. And you can still gather up items that are out there, if you're quick enough.

I would estimate I kiled him somewhere in the neighborhood of a hundred or so times, judging by my rough cash gain on each kill and the final total amount I walked out with, before I got my Conference Call.

I did get two other oranges during that span of time though, one shitty (Flakker) and one decent (pistol whose name I can't remember, shoots seven explosive bullets in a horizontal line)
