Ohh, no. I have the names I need for the first narration. I'm just doing host-y things before I post it. >_>
I'll give the slackers until the end of Day 1 before I pick names for them from various books and TV shows. :P

During the predawn hours in the Shieldwall Woods, the early fog can rise to the tops of the trees. Two travelers sojourn the dirt road from the north, which spans the length of the forest down to the village of Dustin and beyond to the southern seas. On horseback rests a lovely maid, her knight protector walks in front, sword and torch extended. A light morning breeze blows in from the Great Phallandian Plains to the west, bringing with it the chill morning air. The Lady Ahavadria’s teeth clatter as she rubs her arms to keep them warm. They had traveled through the night to reach their destination on time. The lady protests, “It is much too cold for this time of year. Winter seems to have arrived ahead of schedule.”
Sir Dolphinius turns to look at her, and sees upon her the signs of the cold. His armor had insulated him from the night air during their journey, but she had not properly dressed for a trip such as this, through the long night and open country. He approaches her and unclasps his cloak from about his neck and proffers it up to her. The Lady Ahavadria gracefully accepts the cloak and drapes it about her shoulders. A rustling comes from nearby bushes and Sir Dolphinius glances in their direction, the lady does not notice. “Hmm... probably just the wind,” he muses to himself. As the two continue down the road to Dustin, the rustling follows not far behind. Every few minutes it can be heard, and the knight turns his head to locate the sound. He knows it is coming somewhere from behind him on his left, but cannot pinpoint the exact location. Once, he even lifts his torch to illuminate the area but still sees nothing.
An arrow is launched unnoticed but for the sound of rushing air shooting past the knight’s ear. A loud winnie sounds from the horse and Dolphinius about faces to the sight of the beast rearing up on onto its hind legs. The Lady Ahavadria comes crashing to the ground with a loud thump as the gallant knight positions himself between her and the woods. The rustling bushes had not been just the wind playing tricks, there had been someone or something hidden amongst them. Steel clad men emerge from the bushes and out of the fog, approaching Sir Dolphinius with weapons drawn in an ever shrinking semi-circle.
The gruff looking knight in the middle barks a quick command to his men, “Kill them both, we can’t allow them to escape and warn the village.” At their captain’s command the knights charge Dolphinius’ position. The Lady Ahavadria lets out a scream as the men rush towards them. Dolphinius’ face is set in a look of grim determination. When the men finally enter striking distance he lashes out at the one on the far left, planting his sword in the knight’s neck. He quickly pulls his sword to parry an attack from the next man, a geyser of blood spurting from the first as he crumples to the ground. He exchanges blows with the two closest to him, using his torch to help keep them at bay. The men not occupied by Dolphinius’ attacks slip around him to silence the screaming woman. With Lady Ahavadria dead, they close the distance and begin to cut at him from behind, one hitting the back of his knee, another his heel. Dolphinius drops his sword and falls to his knees as a blade penetrates his right flank.
“Gallant fool!” spits the gruff looking knight as he slowly twists the blade inside the defeated knight. Dolphinius winces, and with the last of his strength whips up his torch and brands his killer’s face. “Aaaugh!” The knight screams, clutching his face, as he plants a giant boot on Dolphinius’s chest and kicks him off his blade. The scarred knight yells at his men, “No time to dawddle, if we keep pace we can make the village before the sun.”
Marshall Law, Knight Captain of the Phallandian forces garrisoned at Dustin is a stolid man, years of combat have hardened him. He has spent his entire career on the Imperial Border, a life of constant combat. Today he is watching over his troops as they drill in the yard of the old monastery, his penetrating gaze passing over each pair of knights as they go about their training exercises, the late afternoon sun beating down on each heavily armored soul. Out of the corner of his eye he glimpses a figure running through and monastery gates and approaching him. The man stops when he reaches the captain, taking a moment to catch his breath. “What is it, Matlock?” the captain asks as he hands the man the water skin from his belt. Timothy Matlock takes a quick drink, the water dripping down his chin. Panting slower now, he responds, “Bodies, captain. We've found bodies along the forest road. You need to come, quickly!”
Matlock leads the captain and a contingent of his knights to the spot along the road where the bodies are lain. Captain Law approaches the two bodies clumped together. A knight, cut in multiple places, his armor stained with the color of dried blood, holding in his arms the body of a young woman. A blood trail shows that the knight crawled from where he fell to reach the body of the young lady. The captain turns away and heads for the third body. He reaches the corpse and turns it over with his boot. A man, nearly decapitated. He notes the Imperial insignia on the man’s chest and orders his men to draw weapons and spread out to search the area. Timothy speaks up, interrupting the captain, “The Imperials aren’t in the area any more captain, you don’t have to send your men out looking for them.” The captain looks at him questioningly, “How can you tell?” The guide points out and explains the scene to the captain, “With the state these bodies are in, these three died sometime in the early hours, probably before the sun even came up, if the torch is any indication. If the men who did this kept their pace up they would have made it into the village sometime this morning.” The captain’s eye bulged, a display of shock rarely seen on the grizzled combat veteran. He swiftly turned to recall his knights, “Get your wits about you men, we march for Dustin! The Imperial Scum are already ahead of us, we’re going to have a time routing them out.”
