Sounds vaguely familiar...

Yeah - my favorite bits were how they could never get the scale quite right.
Megatron was a robot that was several times larger than a human but could transform into a handgun that could be used by a human.
Devestator was the largest of the decpticons (well, at the time) but could somehow fit inside the back of Astrotrain, who was half his height, along with every other Decepticon.
Unicron was apparently the size of earth, slightly smaller than the moon, only about ten to twenty times larger than Galvatron, and about half the size of Cybertron, all within the same scene.
doesn't transformers have some horrible live actors in it? I mean I can live with CG, but annoying people are still annoying.
I like Shia LeBeouf.
So do i. you should watch a guide to recognizing your saints.
also, i am looking forward to the new turtles movie. i mean, it's basically the god damn cartoon. it's not like they're changing anything dramatically.
Isn't Benie Mac in it? Has he ever been in a good movie?
The Oceans movies were pretty sweet (11 moreso than 12).
I'm excited for the new Turtles movie, personally. Every time something new based on an old franchise comes out, someone or other complains that it will "ruin the franchise," so I don't listen to those people.
MAYBE THEY'LL EVEN PUT VANILLA ICE IN THE NEW MOVIE AMIRITE?

yeah
when the first trailer came out i was pretty worried
all running across the buildings and looking all dark and xtreme
then michaelangelo fell into a dumpster
and i was appeased
the second trailer, which explains the actual plot and stuff, makes me want to see the movie
it looks like the cartoon series from two years ago, only cgi

i liked that series
so i approve
When i saw the first trailer i was sort of hoping it was going to be kind of dark, like the comics. But i got no beef.
it better be the like original comic where sharp objects actually meet flesh. OH HEY I HAVE THESE SWORDS, I ONLY REALLY USE THEM TO CUT UP PIZZAS AND ROBOTS

I doubt it
have you watched the most recent cartoon series?
it will probably be like that.

You use the swords for blocking, and then you finish them with a kick.
because it just looks dorky and doesn't suit optimus' character
but beyond that
they look pretty cool.

Shia LaBeouf is a great actor.
Also, I agree about the flames on Optimus not matching his character at all. And they could have at least made the slightest attempt to make Megatron look like Megatron at all. I'm not saying he has to be a gun, like a tank or whatever would be fine. But his robot mode bears no resemblence to his cartoon counterpart. Most of the other stuff doesn't really bug me.

I thought the decepticons were all supposed to be airplanes or airplane-related
in this one.
heh. i remember the TMNT. i also remember the biker mice from mars.
In that episode where they showed us how the biker mice got their injuries and such, they showed Modo in a big puddle of blood with just one arm left. That was pretty brutal for a kid's cartoon.

It's not like the Ninja Turtles had all that much integrity to begin with.
Edited to reflect my views.
I just don't understand a lot of the hate it's been getting from internet nerds.
I mean christ
did they even watch the old show
or the original movie?
we are not talking ahead of it's time, high fucking art here.
the historical revisionism that nerds who grew up in the 80's practice is astounding.

you ever want to see the insanity of transformers fans
just look around for some stuff on a transformers fandom person who goes by Raksha
i think she has an encyclopedia dramatica article
holy fucking shit.

also, hilt-punching and pommel-bashes
man, when i was a kid, i preferred the archie comics version of the turtles to the original, mirage comics version
in fact, the only reason i read the mirage comics at all is because i had the tmnt RPG, and that was based entirely on the mirage comics.
Hated him on Even Stevens, liked him in Holes.
Re: Blade meets flesh
I actually liked the Foot soldiers better as robots (cartoon) than as misguided teens (movies)
He makes a good sidekick
see: i, robot and constantine
I have seen both of those and never realized it was him. So I guess I approve of him in general?
I saw a lot of internet bitching when the second trailer came out, people all like "god damn it don't focus on human characters make it about robots"
uh
show's always been about the humans and their transformer buddies.
usually a kid of some kind
every single series except Beast Wars had this as a central theme
I am in no way a transformer nerd. I've only watched the Beast Wars show a little and that's it. Never saw any of the other stuff.

Also, I've heard that this new CG movie is supposed to take place in the same continuity as the live action ones.
You mean right after their TIME TRAVELING ADVENTURE TO ANCIENT JAPAN?

That never happened.
Oh, come on.
The scene with the boxer shorts was glorious.
