Broke out my thicker paper sketchbook today and have been messing with pens and markers. Making lots of mistakes, but I feel at peace with that fact for the first time in awhile. Gonna make some ugly, bad stuff.
If anyone has any marker tips, also, I'd like to hear them. I have 3 cool grey copic markers that I got just to practice with, I used to use markers pretty regularly when I was younger but I'm definitely rusty.
Well it depends on the programmes you use, moreso than anything. Some people gravitate towards Photoshop, Artrage, Gimp or my personal favourite Corel Painter, it is a matter of finding the programme that suits your needs as much as it is learning what it does.

While mainly concentrating on the 3D art side, there are a fair few tutorials for design on here to get into, requires an account though.
So I bought a Surface for arting and damn it's pretty nice. The calibration on the digitiser could be better (it's shit at the edges) but I guess that's usual for tablets?
I got tired of dragging my laptop around with my wacom pad, plus the usb for it, plus my power bar. I spend alot of time just hanging out with my housemates, so I'm hoping I can just pull this thing out and scribble instead of having to assemble the pieces of my art setup every time I feel like drawing.
Overall it's pretty sweet, I just wish I didn't have to fuck about with the calibration so much. I also picked up manga studio 5 which is pretty neat. It's got awesome brushes but I really wish it supported value layers. I suuuuck at painting if I don't work in value first.
