I thought DMC4 was set after DMC2. Who wants to tell me i'm wrong? I mean Dante seemingly being the bad guy could be linked into the aftermath of DMC2 well.
Nope. The DMC story is really a mess, it goes like this:
DMC3 > DMC1 > DMC4 > DMC2
victor_c26: Not going to happen. The entire reason why Kojima established Kojima Productions was so that he'd be more independant. If Konami started telling him what to do, I think Kojima would probably leave Konami completely.
It might not necessarily mean he's being ordered to.
Lets just say money talks here.

It's been so long since I've posted here, I've removed my signature since most of what I had here were broken links. Shows over, you can carry on to the next post.

Yes but from what I've seen, Kojima isn't all that interested in money. Once again, that was one of the reasons why he formed Kojima Productions, so that he'd get to focus more on developing games than on the business side of things. I mean, take a look at MGS: Portable Ops. They weren't even expecting it to break even and they still pushed ahead with development.

Everything you post from now on will be met with severe scrutiny.

Because of the insanity of what you just posted.
Says the guy that said "no-one bought a PS2 for Gran Turismo" and "Gran Turismo has never been spectacular" when Gran Turismo 3 alone sold 14 and a half million copies.
If you really want an explanation, look at my Portable Ops example again. If Kojima was completely motivated by money, he'd port Portable Ops to the PS2 and pretty much swim in the money they'd earn. Instead, he stuck to his guns and it's staying as a PSP exclusive.

He's got a point here. I seriously doubt Kojima needs to make MGS4 in order to survive financially anymore. Much like many bestselling authors who continue to write outstanding quality books even though they have to be swimming in money already. Regular old scrooge money bin kind of swimming. Not everone wants money as much as people like to think, not everyone treats money as power. Some like to have a nice house, some security into retirement, a nice car, security for their kids too and then they think: "What do I do now, I still have this huge amount of money left overs and nothing to spend it on." In Kojimas case he didn't want to make mgs4, but was contractually forced into doing it because of konami and death threats. I really don't think he gives a shit if it never makes money, because he didn't want to make it in the first place, and he has enough right now anyway.
Now, KONAMI likes money, yeah, I can go with that.
