Need recommendation on LED LCD monitors
My old LCDs are on life support and I think its time to upgrade to something bigger and better. I am looking at LED but I am unfamiliar in what specs I should look that benefit what I work a lot. I do a lot of school work/research, web development and graphics..... lets add gaming. I just want really crisp and clear screens that reduce eye fatigue if possible.
Please recommend me what specs to look at in LCDs to know the good from the bad.

I have a pair of Dell S2240m LED LCDs on my desk, IPS panels and they're really nice. This is work though, at home it's a u2412 but that might be pricey. Look at the Dell IPS LCDs, everyone i've reccomended them to really likes them.
i just grabbed one for my mom. I think its the same one i have too and its quite nice

IPS - in-plane switching.... the liquid crystals are aligned horizontally instead of on an angle. This procress greatly increases vertical viewing angles. When coupled with the high brightness and contrast of the glaretype displays, color reproduction is almost perfect. Basically it becomes a 1/4" professional graphics flat CRT monitor.... which is why the display is primarily for those in professional graphics.
basically its one of the things that make monitors easy to look at from side angles instead of head on.
I used to have a 27" Thunderbold display at work connected to a PC. It's a FANTASTIC monitor, but I hesitate to recommend it to PC users. I don't know if it happened to you, but I could never see my BIOS prompts/messages while booting up. I also needed an adapter for my video port.
Don't you need a thunderbolt connection to run the new cinema display? We're you using a switch? My mini DP ACD did not have those BiOS issues. In any event, I agree, which was why I was recommending dell IPS; should be same quality as the ACD.

Yeah, i needed an addapter for the video connection. What kind of video feed did the old cinema display have?
A mini display.
