Wow, she summoned Madama Butterfly. That's disco.

Still hate hate hate her short hair. I'm sure there'll be costume changes but BLEAH

I refuse to play stupid little rapper boy thing. That's the worst character design I've ever seen.

Meh. I've played a lot of games. I've seen worse.

That said I actually find his Egyptian hip-hop motif kind of endearing.

    Noticed the necklace.

Plot twist is that kid is actually Yugi.

Edit: Anyhow, this game looks awesome. Never played the first one (don't have a 360), but I'll likely pick this one up.

    Oh god that kid's voice.

I hope a lumen sage is an unlockable character at least.

Platinum hair in a platinum game. He's neat. And has knives!

Why do you guys think the kid is a playable character? Is there some gameplay vid or developer remark I missed? It just looks like cutscene stuff to me.

If you look at the part where the boy is running from the giant monster there is a health bar on scene.

Now that could just be a QTE scene that involves him, but seeing as Bayonetta isn't on the screen(or at least I didn't see her) when it happens it seems to be highly suggestive.

I'm all for having 2 playable characters with different move sets. I just need some time to adapt when I switch! I remember in DMC 4 after playing several hours with Nero I had a hard time switching to Dante at first. I would instinctively try to "rev" (charging up the motor on Nero's blade) my attacks while using Dante.

It's the one thing I don't like about Platinum, this constant swapping around of platforms. Still at least it's out there and it isn't really their fault this time.

If anything you can blame this one on SEGA

Or maybe Sony and Microsoft depending on how proactive you expect them to be, but I don't think that would be fair

I'm still mauling over whether or not I should get a WiiU for(realistically) this game and maybe 2-3 others.

    I have yet to decide.

I already have too many consoles as is.

I would absolutely recommend doing so if you liked Bayonetta at all. It's the first game again, with a rock solid frame rate, still looks great and seems like they have dialled so much stuff back up to

It's also not like the WiiU doesn't have any other good games, because X looks fantastic (now I know what it is) and Super Mario 3D World is terrific as well.

And then there's MH3U, and I'm sure some other first-party stuff I'm not remembering.

    Because MH3U.

I'm in the same boat. I adore Platinum Games but my 360, PS3, and Wii have all ended up collecting dust. The only thing really weighing in as another favorable point is that I know my gf would play the hell out of Lego City. Basically I'd be getting a WiiU just for this, W101, and Lego City. Traditionally, I only buy consoles if there are at least 5 games on my DO WANT list and there isn't anything else on the WiiU I can think of that I'm hype for in the slightest.

It's not a game series I've ever really cared about though. There are a lot of good games on the WiiU, I'm sure, I just don't give a damn about any of them. I haven't really enjoyed any Mario or Zelda games since the original NES titles and the other first party IPs I would be hype for like Star Fox and Metroid have seemingly been abandoned by Nintendo. :(

That's how it is for me. I'm not disparging the Wii or anything. Its just that I know the kind of games I like...of which the WiiU has few.

I can understand that. I've made similar comments about how I am no longer so enamored by Mario/Zelda anymore, so they aren't big motivators for me to pick up a system. I do love what they did with Super Mario 3D World though and the new Smash Brothers is going to be a great party game. But really I do just straight up want to play W101 and Bayonetta 2 as my primary motivators.

If Nintendo didnt foot the bill there wouldnt be a bayonetta 2. So the real people to blame are 360/ps3 owners

    Ah...to think...

Sega cancelled Bayo 2 and kept Gearbox's Aliens game.

What a world, what a world.

That said I doubt Sega would have done much for the game in the marketing department anyway, while Nintendo tends to be great in this regard.

I think theyve done a good job. Giving half the franchises fans a brain aneurysm was an excellent start.

Far better than the almost litetally nothing Sega did for Bayo 1

Besides Zeda and metroid prove they can knock out excellent tv spots

Memorable Tv spots at any rate.

See there's only really two games I'm actually genuinely interested in on WiiU and both of them are from the same company. How many other games is this company going to make on this system? Are they going to jump ship to ps4/xbox next and leave the WiiU hanging after this? I don't have one of those either, so I possibly need to buy two consoles.

As much as I go absolutely Ga-Ga over Platinum Games I have this little dude in my head with, like, serious spectacles on and a frowny face saying words like "finances" and I can't shut him up no matter how many times I hit him.

I might just have to skip this one.

    Wait I just realised.

Aegeri you have a WiiU? This game has coop too right? We are gonna be spending some quality time together if the answer to both Q's = True.

Yeah. You see...right now I'm still a 20-something year old with very few responsibilities so I can afford to be irresponsible with my money.

But even then its a question of...how irresponsible.

Change the 20 to 30 and that's basically my feelings too. I routinely drop big dollars on really stupid shit but even I've got a brain cell going "ehhhh" at the thought of buying a WiiU just for three games.

Smash looks fun but I don't really have much in the way of local video gaming buddies. I'm sure it would get some good PAX mileage though as long as I don't have to grind out a ton of character unlocks. That shit pissed me off to no end in Brawl.

I do not have a WiiU right now, but I am hopefully going to own one when Bayonetta 2 comes out with any luck. It's on the agenda for certain.

If this game has coop though we are certainly going to be Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi'ing our way through it!

I suppose one big upside if I get a WiiU is it can become my PAX party game console for the Post-PAX Party and if something happens to it then whoopdeeshit. Drunken Smash Bros./Mario Kart would be pretty win.

In related news, more G&T guys should come to PAX Prime and get trashed with me.

A game you can't play is a piece of useless plastic. I don't see the difference.

Back when they were clover studios I bought a new ps2 when the old one died just to be able to play Godhand again. I had a ps3 at the time.

Then I bought it on psn earlier this year. :)

I miss Mikami's action games. :( I was heartbroken when he said he was giving up directing.
