Also, this is basically my first time seeing how this game looks on consoles, and holy shit does it look better on PC. I didnt know the disparity was so large, sorry console guys At least Battlefield 4 should make your eyes bleed.
It still looks better than just about any other console game, so we've been managing. I mean in between bouts of crying and cutting, anyway.

The PS3 BFFs video up there doesnt look anywhere near as bad as the other video of BF3 I saw so may the video I saw was just super fucked. Factor in I havent played a game on my 360 since the MoH beta (I think thats the last thing I played) which looked terrible and my impression of Frostbite 2 engine on consoles is a bit colored.
At least every mode other than 64 player conquest plays better at the lower player counts. 64 player CQ is fucking insane.
Just realized 64 player CQ could be either Conquest or Close Quarters. I meant Close Quarters. You really really really shouldnt have 64 people running around on those maps.

Well...its fun in its own way I guess.
64 player Close Quarters is just a more retarded Metro.
Close quarters can get annoying with 16 people if you end up on a bad team. 64 players just sounds like a completely pointless mess with how small the maps are.
64 player close quarters is great fun if you just want to blow off steam. All you need to do is grab an LMG with extended mag and just keep firing.
Or you can get melee ribbons because often you can just sit in one place and watch people spawn in front of you!
Sounds like it requires a lot of skill.
@Continental_Op would be in knife heaven. He could become the one true and proper melee kill whore.
@Mulletude, there are apparently 770 some odd people that have more knife kills than me on the Xbox. Who knows about those PC people and their 64 players.
Huh apparently there always was a secret glitch that had you as accurate as ADS, but hipfiring.

That seems like the kind of thing that would take 2 GB of code to fix.
They should add an option to the servers to auto-kick you if you're an engineer, the enemy has literally all the vehicles on the map, and you go more than X amount of time without firing a rocket, getting a lock-on, or laying down a mine.

I don't really get how people play engineer and not blow everything up.
The only reason I play engineer is for the comforting feeling of a big explosion stick on my back.

That's tomorrow's "map pack". :P

It certainly wasn't like this in BC2. Sure, helicopters were far more of a pain to bring down, but you never had tanks and Bradleys beating the shit out of everyone without running into opposition.

Tanks/IFVs are just as powerful in BF3 as they are in BC2. All you need in either game is 2 or 3 engineers actually trying to take them out. Heck, in BC2 you couldn't even disable vehicles, which made it a pain if they had 2 engis repairing it.
If the team decides to ignore enemy armor, they will just destroy everyone.

People seem to forget that they halved the Engineer repair speed on the torch in BF3.

I'm pretty sure the dumbfire rockets were more powerful in BC2 (plus you could actually, y'know, destroy things), but OTOH, you didn't have Javelins or Stingers, either. And AT mines now replace your torch, not your rocket. I just can't even keep track of how many games I've played where the skies are swarming with choppers, tanks and LAVs are pounding the ground, and the team is at least 50% engineers.
I think it's not that it's hard to keep vehicles under control, it's that BF3 is a lot more successful, so it attracts a lot more dumb players & little children.

As someone who really likes BC2 and now has a computer that can run BF3, is it worth picking up now? Which version is the 'complete' one? I'm gonna wait and grab it for the next Amazon sale which should be soon.

You're right about being able to take armor out, but armor is leagues better in BF3 than it was in BC2. BC2's IFVs were basically as slow as tanks and had no sprint, and tanks died to all of three rockets and had no regen.

Armor's a lot more durable and has some decent countermeasures, so it's a lot harder to solo a tank with an RPG, but you know what, if you're getting the shit beaten out of you by armor, it only takes two engineers with Javelins to completely change that. Even Support can help push them around with the mortar. Same with helis...one or two engineers with Stingers can completely suppress a chopper.
I get that sometimes, everyone's playing their favorite class and refuses to change, but when I join a server, and there are ten out of twelve players engineers, if armor is currently a major problem, then everyone is just fucking brain-dead.
This is confirmed when I spawn as the eleventh engineer, proceed to take out both helicopters with a Stinger, respawn with a Javelin, and then push the tanks off the nearest flag.

Ok, 360 dudebros, i'm getting into EA chat support now to fix the damn dome. With Endgame coming out tomorrow i'd hate for us not to have our own place to mess around with the new maps.

[edit]And yeah, the MOH beta looked like assholes. Wondered how they could make it so shitty when BF3 looked so nice using the same engine.
Well...its fun in its own way I guess.
The packeged version of MoH came with a texture pack just like BF3. But they could have done better, it was just one freaking map in that beta.

Like on the surface I'm interested in Black Ops 2, but the amount of things not working in the nitty gritty of the game are whats keeping me out.

There is also Planetside 2 but Endgame for BF3 comes out tomorrow.

COOL
To be fair, we were just fooling around on one of the early Domes and you weren't really trying that hard. It was like a bullfight!
I swear I've knifed at least one dude out of the gunner seat in one before too, which is awesome because it takes two slashes and they just sat there.
Are they at least compensating you with free days or internet dollars?
