So I'm staining/finishing a wooden box for my valentine's day gift to my girlfriend. I've chosen a Minwax Polyshades at the recommendation of my mother. Problem is, mom's not around for the next couple of days and I don't know what the hell I'm doing. It says to use a natural bristle brush but I don't know if I even own one. Is that part crucial? Also, general tips/hints?
